    🔋  𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗻𝗲𝘁: 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🔋    We're excited to share insights about the INNOnet (Interactive Network Optimization and Network Tariffs) research project. This initiative explores how load-dependent grid tariffs influence household energy consumption, aiding regulators and grid operators in finding optimal tariff structures for the energy transition.    Led by AIT Austrian Institute of Technology in collaboration with Energieinstitut an der JKU Linz, LINZ NETZ GmbH, Netz Oberösterreich GmbH, Energienetze Steiermark GmbH, tounify GmbH, HAKOM Time Series GmbH, FH OÖ F&E GmbH, Siemens AG Austria and clever-PV GmbH, this project is funded by FFG Österreichische Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft mbH.    HAKOM’s task was to design a cloud-based data platform (see image) serving as the backend for a mobile app developed by FH OÖ. This app allows registered users to monitor their consumption/generation data and adjust their energy usage in response to tariff changes.    HAKOM PowerTSM®, our cloud-based time series technology, has been enhanced to enable secure communication with the app, retrieving data from the EDA platform (https://www.eda.at/) via the EDDIE interface (https://eddie.energy/) and smart meters. Near-real-time consumption data is transmitted through the MQTT protocol (see image), with a dedicated service processing and storing these data as time series in the cloud platform.    Scientific partners, AIT & EI, gain access to this data to run analyses and simulations, calculating the impact of experimental grid tariffs. Over 1,000 households from Linz Netz, Netz Oberösterreich, and Energienetze Steiermark are participating, providing a diverse dataset that includes e-mobility, heat pumps, storage, and PV patterns.    HAKOM’s cloud-based time series technology PowerTSM® ensures data consistency and effective collaboration. It's easy to overlook how small actions at work can impact the environment. Minor changes to our daily habits can contribute significantly to global sustainability goals. Our upcoming series will show how everyone can help create a more sustainable world, starting at their desks. Let's dive in! 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: Turn off lights when not needed and use energy-efficient appliances. Utilize natural light and motion sensor lights to save energy. 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻♻️: Use reusable items over single-use plastics. Provide reusable water bottles and coffee mugs to cut down on waste. 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀📄: Go digital with document storage and sharing. If printing is necessary, use both sides of the paper and opt for recycled paper. 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀🚴♂️🚶: Encourage carpooling, biking, walking, or public transportation. Offer incentives for eco-friendly commuting. 𝗘𝗰𝗼-𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀🌱: Choose office supplies from sustainable vendors. Use products made from recycled materials and designed to be reusable. 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀🌿: Add plants to the office for better air quality and a pleasant environment. Water Conservation💧: Fix leaks and install low-flow faucets. Encourage mindful water use at work and home. 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 🎉: Use digital invites, local and seasonal catering, and plan to minimize waste. 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 👥: Form a green team or sustainability committee. This data, collected from buoys, satellites, and tide gauges, provides continuous insights into wave heights, periods, and tidal variations.    Advanced techniques like Fourier analysis and machine learning help us model the interactions between wind, atmospheric pressure, and ocean currents. These models are essential for predicting wave and tide conditions, ensuring safe navigation and effective coastal planning.    And time series analysis sheds light on sea level rise and its impacts aiding in the development of strategies to protect coastal communities and ecosystems.
