Imagetwin is the solution to detect image manipulation and plagiarism in academic papers. Using advanced AI technology, we can automatically identify problematic images and cross-check them with the existing literature. A significant proportion of academic manuscripts contain image-related problems like manipulation and plagiarism. Unfortunately, even though automated solutions for text plagiarism now exist, there has been no such solution for images in the past. Manually checking images for integrity issues is time-consuming and expensive, and besides the lack of trained experts, many problems remain undetected. Imagetwin solves this issue by offering automated detection of problematic images using advanced AI-technology. The software examines papers within seconds and compares them against a database of millions of previously published articles.

Two things I want to discuss in today's digest. 1) Two studies, which have both been published in 2021 and have been cited 14 (study 1) and 9 (study 2) times each, had some unexpected overlaps. See the image below for more details. It's also neatly demonstrates the strength of imagetwin's new detection feature for duplicates in FACS plots 😍. 2) SmutClyde wrote a very nice piece on Leonid's For Better Science blog. It was a coincidence that I also found some papers of this paper mill, so I was happy to tag along and do some of the sleuthing.
