My colleague Morana Petrić and I are participating in the second European GREEN conference in Vodice with a poster about CO2 footprint mitigation by implementing geothermal heating sources in cities - Case Study of Krapinske Toplice and Sveta Nedelja. The conference is held with the aim of bringing together scientists and experts from all scientific fields and emphasizing the necessity of applying a multidisciplinary approach in environmental protection, mitigating the climate crisis and achieving the UN goals of sustainable development and achieving the goals of the European Green Plan where we from #IVICOM Consulting, together with our collague Ivan Marković, tried to point out the advantages of using geothermal energy in achieving the stated goals.

In the frame of Rijeka Refinery Upgrade Project in INA Rijeka Refinery which is the currently biggest investment in Croatia, IVICOM Consulting is on final stage of completing its scope of work on coke silo and coke shipping port. @KT Kinetics Technology, the project Contractor, subcontracted a challenging part: concrete silo structures and steel structures supply and erection of whole coke handling system supports to IVICOM Consulting on EPC basis. IVICOM Consulting key local partners for execution were Tehnika for construction of concrete silo structure and Bajkmont for steel structures.   The project is structurally extremely complex since silo height is 44.6m with diameter of 35.8m and steel structure on top of silo which is on elevation of over 56m. Mezzanine slab with thickness 1,4m is supported with 50 reinforced concrete columns with a diameter of 1m. Cantilever scaffolding was installed on both sides, from which all works were performed during construction of reinforced concrete structure.   After concrete works were completed, the installation of the roof steel structure and elevator started. Steel structure was pre-assembled in several segments on ground, lifted and finally connected on position. 600t crane from our partner Prangl has been used for lifting operations.   All works were constantly supervised and coordinated by IVICOM Consulting team on site, supported by colleagues from engineering department in Zagreb Head office. #engineering #concrete #steel
