📈 Early look at 2024 Part D trends 📈 With all the talk of high drug trends lately, you might expect to see big changes in Part D spending from 2023 to 2024 - but the recent change in DIR treatment clouds the picture, with pharmacy price concessions reflected in gross costs beginning in 2024. 2024 gross allowed PMPM decreased 1.7% from 2023, while AWP PMPM increased 6.9%. Also of note, brand and specialty utilization increased significantly, likely related to the new cap on patient costs, which many members started hitting partway through the year. This snapshot is through 3Q24, and we’ll have an even fuller picture in our next update, incorporating full year 2024 data and additional breakouts.
