Today, our President Dr. Abdulhamid Alkhalifa welcomed HE Haytham Shoja’aadin, #Yemen’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Austria, to our HQ. Their discussions centered on Yemen's humanitarian and developmental challenges. Through collaborative efforts, we can support Yemen’s resilience and recovery journey, helping to create a more stable and prosperous future for its people.

The #WBGMeetings provided an opportunity to underscore our commitment to advancing global development goals, including #climateresilience, #energytransition, sustainable #agriculture and socio-economic empowerment. With a delegation led by our President Dr. Abdulhamid Alkhalifa, the #OPECFund concluded its participation at the #WBGMeetings with robust new financing commitments. Highlights include: ▪️ New commitments close to half a billion US dollars with #Benin, #Bhutan, #CotedIvoire, #Jordan, #Oman and a bank in #Uzbekistan ▪️ Major cooperation and co-financing framework agreement with The World Bank Group with an operational focus on #climate, #foodsecurity and #infrastructure ▪️ New partnership agreements to expand operations and development impact in the Latin America and Caribbean (#LAC) region “The Annual Meetings provided a vital opportunity for the OPEC Fund to connect with key stakeholders and align our efforts to meet the development needs of our partner countries. Expanding our cooperation with CAF -banco de desarrollo de América Latina y el Caribe- – banco de desarrollo de America Latina y el Caribe-:   #OPECFund President Dr. Abdulhamid Alkhalifa & CAF's Executive President Sergio Díaz-Granados today signed a new Cooperation Framework Agreement to enhance our partnership in promoting sustainable development across #LatinAmerica.    The agreement focuses on co-financing #infrastructure projects and fostering #economicgrowth in the region. Under the agreement, the OPEC Fund aims to contribute up to US$1 billion in co-financing for #publicsector projects over the three-year period from 2024 to 2027.   “We are proud to renew this partnership in a region so critical to our global priorities of #climateaction and #foodsecurity.
