On 23 October, the Gender Issues Programme under the #WINGenderEquality brought together regional women mediators’ networks to discuss effective strategies for building resilience against climate disasters. We showcased inspiring case studies on how women lead the way in navigating both current climate and humanitarian crises and explored opportunities for them to build stronger regional capacities to address non-traditional security challenges.

🚫 Discrimination isn’t just an issue of fairness—it’s a security risk. ❌ When marginalized groups are denied equal opportunities, particularly in employment, societies becomes more divided. 📢 The latest "Barometer of Equal Opportunities" from the OSCE Mission to Skopje found that 77% of respondents felt political affiliation heavily influences hiring decisions in North Macedonia. This exclusion not only creates deep social rifts but can also fuel unrest, erode trust in institutions, and lead to instability. When people feel left out, society weakens. 🔍 Addressing discrimination is about more than fairness—it's about building a secure, cohesive future for everyone.
