We are proud to highlight Hall's graduation from the 𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗨𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗜 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲! Over the past year, Hall Skaara and 80 dedicated participants from 33 countries have gained invaluable insights into medicines research and development, clinical trials, regulatory frameworks, HTAs and more, empowering patients to play integral roles in the healthcare landscape. As a newly minted EUPATI Fellow, Hall will bring this expertise to PHA Europe, strengthening our efforts to amplify patient voices and ensure they are central in shaping therapies and policies. As Hall underscored, "EUPATI training program is an excellent opportunity for networking among so many other things, and graduating as an EUPATI Fellow is both an honor and a responsibility. It signifies a commitment to using the knowledge and skills acquired during the program to advocate for patient needs and promote meaningful engagement in the development of therapies and policies. For me, it is an exciting opportunity to contribute more effectively in my role at PHA Europe and to collaborate with fellow EUPATI Fellows on new projects and initiatives. One of the other fellows from a previous cohort, Louise Bouman - van der Waal, is also involved in PHA Europe as the President of the PH Association in the Netherlands." Caring for someone with pulmonary hypertension (PH) is an immense responsibility, often falling on family members or close friends.👨👩👧👦 Yet, the true impact of caregiving on these nonprofessional caregivers is rarely acknowledged. They face a range of challenges—emotional, physical, financial, and social—that deeply affect their daily lives. Many caregivers report feelings of burnout and stress due to the intense, long-term nature of their role, as PH is a progressive condition. The lack of proper support, clear information, and guidance leaves many feeling overwhelmed, which can lead to anxiety, depression, and a sense of being unprepared. Pulmonary hypertension is a complex condition that affects not just the lungs, but the heart and overall well-being. Supporting caregivers is critical—not only for their own health but for the health and well-being of the PH patients they care for. When caregivers are properly supported, they can provide better care, improving outcomes for patients. At our association, we are dedicated to amplifying the voices of PH caregivers and ensuring their needs are heard, understood, and addressed. #goodPHnews from Hungary 👏🙌 Hungarian PH association participated in the SPAR Budapest Marathon in a unique way. Instead of others running for them, patients took part in the 2.3 km Gondosóra walk and the 500-meter FODISZ equality race with patients, family members, and friends. While the distances may seem short, for patients , completing the walk was a significant achievement. At Tüdőér Egylet PH booth, they shared information about Pulmonary Hypertension, and many visitors took brochures. The positive atmosphere energized everyone, and they reached the finish line tired but happy. 📣PHA Europe invites you to join us at the Bel Air Center for the second HTA session today in the Live Presentation Room, starting at 18:30 CET. No registration is needed—simply log in to the Bel Air Center and join the live session. Today’s session will be led by Neil Bertelsen, an expert in patient involvement in 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗛𝗧𝗔). Neil also conducted the first training session in June, which is now available for viewing in the Bel Air Center. In this session, he will answer pre-submitted questions from our members, as well as any additional questions that arise during the live event. Health Technology Assessment (HTA) reviews the medical, economic, and ethical impact of new health technologies. Even after a drug gets regulatory approval, it doesn’t automatically become available everywhere. HTA bodies evaluate its value and effectiveness for each country. Patients and advocates play a key role by sharing their experiences to shape decisions.
