The Urban ReLeaf project will co-create citizen-powered data ecosystems to support climate change adaptation, green infrastructure and urban design planning. Aiming to promote public sector innovation, Urban ReLeaf will deliver a series of inclusive civic engagement campaigns to address information gaps and offer protocols for the uptake, validation and long-term inclusion of citizen-powered data into authoritative data streams. At the heart of Urban ReLeaf’s action and mission-oriented approach are public authorities, established communities and citizen groups in six pioneering cities. Together, they will tackle local issues of public interest and contribute to European and global policies, strengthening EU environmental monitoring mechanisms. At the World Urban Forum in Cairo next week, global leaders, politicians, urban visionaries, architects, planners academics, and change-makers will come together to tackle today’s most critical urban challenges.
