🌟 The WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development, FIBS and respACT - austrian business council for sustainable development approached me to give me the opportunity to share some highlights from my journey as a DEI head #CSRTAG2024. Here are some highlights: 🔍 Understanding Inclusion: I didn't just study the concept of inclusion; I engaged in meaningful discussions with leaders, managers, and employees to understand what makes people feel excluded. These conversations were instrumental in shaping my perspective on our DEI strategy. 🗣️ Forming the DEI Strategy: My view on our DEI strategy was shaped through rigorous discussions where my ideas were challenged. I had the greatest mentor Niklas Nordling, who challenged me to think and rethink, test and pilot. 📋 Defining Inclusion: Based on these discussions, I defined what inclusion should feel like and the behaviours we should see more of. 🔝 Accountability: While these behaviours were defined for everyone, leaders and managers were especially held accountable for building an environment based on trust, turning diversity into a strength in their organization and mitigating bias. 📊 Measuring Inclusion: Once we defined the behaviours, we started measuring our progress. Our detailed inclusion survey revealed that while we were inclusive, it wasn't equal for all. Let's continue to strive for a workplace where everyone feels truly included. 💪 #Inclusion #DEI #Leadership #WorkplaceCulture A big thanks goes to my back-then team: Burcu Dönmez (she/her), Bharti Mittal and Christopher Colbert.
