Sciana brings together outstanding leaders in health and health care policy and innovation across Europe.
Info
Sciana: The Health Leaders Network is an initiative bringing together outstanding leaders in health and health care policy and innovation across Europe. The Sciana network is supported by a partnership between the Health Foundation (UK), Careum Stiftung (Switzerland) and the Robert Bosch Stiftung (Germany) in collaboration with Salzburg Global Seminar. The network is for leaders who share a deep commitment to quality, sustainability, universal coverage, and patient and community-centred care, nationally and internationally. Their vision and collaboration, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, is critically needed to respond to common issues, such as fiscal strains, demographic change, chronic diseases, and migration.

We're pleased to share that Bosch Health Campus, together with the European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG) and the World Health Summit, is organising a session at the upcoming EHFG Conference (24-27 September). The title of the session is "Renewing the social contract in Europe." This subject is closely linked to and inspired by our fourth cohort's work on social contracts. With that in mind, we're delighted to confirm that this discussion will feature several people familiar to Sciana, including Ilona Kickbusch, Bogi Eliasen, and Steve Clarke. They'll be joined by: - Frank Vandenbroucke, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Social Affairs and Public Health, Belgium - Clemens Martin Auer, President, European Health Forum Gastein - Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine - Anca Toma, Executive Director, European Patients' Forum This year's EHFG Conference will also be live-streamed for those who are unable to attend in person. Lawrence Tallon is a member of #Sciana's fifth cohort, while Ricardo Baptista Leite, M.D., is a former guest speaker. Both had a chance to connect earlier this year at Cohort 5's fourth residential meeting. It's great to see these conversations continue outside of #Salzburg.
It was our great pleasure to welcome Ricardo Baptista Leite, M.D. CEO of HealthAI - The Global Agency for Responsible AI in Health to London as our guest at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and the Artificial Intelligence Centre for Value Based Healthcare A wide ranging conversation covering issues such as: - how to strike the right balance between the safe adoption of AI in health with the need to promote innovation and commercialisation in such a fast moving field with fierce geopolitical competition; - the importance of global cooperation and and communities of interest, whilst maintaining national responsibility for regulation and standards; - shifting from a predominant balance of supply-led products and solutions to a more demand-shaped market dynamic; - the potential for massive increases in access to healthcare in low and middle income countries with digital-first opportunities We look forward to collaborating with HealthAI - The Global Agency for Responsible AI in Health as they coordinate the global community of interest.
