3 Hidden Opportunities for Junior Doctors at a UEG - United European Gastroenterology congress. Point of view from an international awardee. Bonus at the end: guide how to gain these benefits I recently returned from UEG Week, a congress dedicated to gastroenterology. 3 opportunities should not be overlooked: 1. Find a Supervisor A consistent mentor helps track progress and mistakes, speeding up your development. I found AI research mentors at UEG Week. 2. Explore Observerships/Fellowships Ask doctors directly about opportunities to learn new techniques and approaches. 3. Job Opportunities Start-ups seek problem-solvers like you. Steps to Use These Opportunities: 1. Improve Your Medical English Your communication skills make you more competitive. I joined programs at Code Black Academy. 2. Look for events that interest you. I found a grant with the help of Code Black, as they have a course where grants, fellowships, and observerships for various specialities are discussed. 3. Apply I applied independently due to my experience. However, I could have avoided some mistakes if I had reviewed Code Black’s lectures more carefully. I am sincerely grateful to Code Black Academy for the guidance and to UEG - United European Gastroenterology for the opportunity.
