Have you ever wondered how glass bottles and jars get their shape? Did you know that there are 3 different processes to form glass products? Whether the 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬&𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐰 (𝐏𝐁), the 𝐍𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬&𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐰 (𝐍𝐍𝐏𝐁) or the 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐰&𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐰 (𝐁𝐁) process is chosen, is determined by the mouth of the jar / bottle and by the weight of the product. Learn more about each process in our series. The 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬&𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐰 (𝐏𝐁) process is used for the production of jars, i.e. glass products with a wide mouth. This is the key to choosing this particular process. First of all, the forming of the product takes place in the blank mould, where the mouth is formed by the thick and short forming plunger. The so-called parison is preformed in this way. With a rotating arm, also called a transfer arm, the preformed glass is turned around correctly into the blow-mold, hold by the finish tool. In the second step, the glass container is getting it’s final shape by blowing, while the transfer arm with the finish tool rotates back to the preform side. The smallest container which we produce by this process is a jar with a volume of 30 ml and the largest one has a volume of 4250 ml. So, next time you open a jar, you will exactly know how it was made. 👍 #Vetropack #PressBlowProcess #Expertise #glasspackaging

In the 8th year of our "Little Things Around Us" grant programme, Vetropack Moravia Glass employees selected 6 projects from 20 applications to receive financial support for their implementation. And we are very happy that the first projects have already been implemented. One of them is the bird house project in the village of Těmice. The aim of this project was to support the population of small birds🐦🐦⬛🦜 in the vicinity of the village. The members of the hunting club, in cooperation with children, planned a workshop to make bird houses and place them around the village. The money from the grant programme was used to pay for the materials. The workshop was held at the end of October. 74 volunteers took part and together they made 24 birdhouses! These now adorn the surroundings of the village of Těmice. We are delighted to support this project and look forward to others to come! 🤩 #vetropack #littlethings #grantprogramme

The First Customer Talks at Vetropack Austria We are excited to have hosted the first two Customer Talks at our Austrian plants in Pöchlarn and Kremsmünster. In this format, we invite our customers to present their companies to our employees, highlight successes, and discuss challenges. During the first Customer Talk at the Kremsmünster plant, we were delighted to receive fascinating insights from Rudolf Himmelsberger, Managing Director of Weinkellerei Aigner, about the history and development of his company. Topics such as the introduction of the 0.5L Ale bottle with MCA closure and the critical importance of seamless logistics were discussed in depth and emphasized. The appreciation for our collaboration is reflected in every detail! The second talk in Pöchlarn, with Herbert Toifl and Christoph Fingerlos from Weinkellerei Wegenstein, provided us with deeper insights into Austria's largest winery. Wegenstein particularly values our quality and reliability, as well as our proactive approach to new developments, such as reducing bottle weight. The just-in-time deliveries, up to three times a day, are a true example of joint excellence! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made these inspiring events possible. We are already looking forward to continuing this format with customers from other business segments next year!

"All packaging is safe and able to protect products” 🛒 Packaging safety is not a thing of the past, and consumers are becoming increasingly demanding about it. But ensuring packaging is safe goes beyond its production – and that is where glass packaging stands out. 🙏 🔝 While other materials can degrade during recycling, glass retains its integrity no matter how many times it is recycled. Read Glass Hallmark #PackagingUnpacked series to learn why not all packaging materials are equally safe for consumers. 👇 https://bit.ly/4gG90pq #vetropack #GlassPackaging #feve #health

At Vetropack Straža, our furnace walls are currently rising, one precise layer at a time! Did you know that all bricks in glass contact, superstructure (working end, melting end, forehearts) and arches are numbered? And that different parts of the furnace require different types of bricks? This meticulous process goes far beyond construction – it’s the science behind ensuring durability and efficiency. 🧱 Numbered Bricks: The mentioned bricks are numbered to match their exact position in the furnace structure. Why? - To ensure optimum heat distribution and to avoid weak points. - To build a sturdy furnace capable of enduring the extreme demands of glass production. 🔥 Specialised materials: The furnace sections face unique conditions - intense heat, mechanical stress and exposure to reactive chemicals. Using the right material in the right place keeps the furnace safe and minimises downtime. For example, bricks in the melting zone are specially designed to withstand high temperatures and corrosion, while bricks in cooler areas focus on insulation and stability. A glass furnace rebuild isn't just a rebuild; it's a masterclass in how to do it right! #vetropack #GlassFurnace #GlassProduction
