This week our Plant Sciences Team attended the 8th International Plant Phenotyping Symposium (IPPS8), where Head of the Facility Jakub Jeż presented the Norway spruce drought stress project realized at the #PHENOPlant by Carlos Trujillo-Moya and Muhammad Ahmad from the Austrian Research Centre for Forests. It was selected as one of only four to showcase innovative approaches to "Phenotyping of biotic and abiotic stress responses" and the presentation included a POV video from inside our Multi-sensor, high-throughput plant phenotyping platform (PHENOPlant) - Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/dUuXavam Bundesforschungszentrum für Wald (BFW) International Plant Phenotyping Network - IPPN Selina Schöndorfer Paula Helfenbein Sebastian Seitner #ipps8 #viennabiocenter #vbcf

Happy to announce that the Norway spruce drought stress project realized at our #PHENOPlant by Carlos Trujillo-Moya and Muhammad Ahmad from the Austrian Research Centre for Forests will be presented during the 8th International Plant Phenotyping Symposium (IPPS8)! The abstract ""Pheno-Omics to mine adaptative variation related to drought in Norway spruce seedlings” was chosen as one of four presentations for the session "Phenotyping of biotic and abiotic stress responses". We are excited about this opportunity for the Plant Sciences Facility Team to share their insights and experiences with an international audience. Be sure to reach out if you are attending #IPPS8 in Nebraska on Oct. 7-11th! Thank you to everyone wo took part in our workshop, which was held together with NanoTemper Technologies last week. Scientists working in the field of protein production and engineering, biotechnology, biologics development, drug discovery, and structural biology were invited to join a free workshop, introducing the new Monolith X Special thanks to Audrey Crousilles and Arthur Sedivy from our Protein Technologies Facility team for organizing! #partofviennabiocenter #proteintechnologies #vbcf
What a great opportunity to meet, network and discuss scientific projects and challenges with so many scientists from the #Vienna area at this week's NanoTemper Technologies and Vienna BioCenter Core Facilities (VBCF) GmbH workshop! A big thank you to all our users and attendees who took their time to discuss the applications of #Monolith, #Dianthus, #PrometheusPanta and #Andromeda for their in-solution binding affinity studies and #protein biophysical characterization. This would not have been possible without the long-standing collaboration and support of Arthur Sedivy and Audrey Crousilles, our hosts for this event, who provide an excellent biophysical platform with many state-of-the-art tools. We look forward to further collaborations with scientists from the Vienna BioCenter, Max Perutz Labs Vienna, Universität Wien | University of Vienna, Medical University of Vienna, Gregor Mendel Institute, Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP), University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), Institute of Science and Technology Austria, all the other top scientific institutes, biotech and pharma representing Austrian scientific excellence!

Our Protein Technologies Team recently hosted a demonstration together with Applied Photophysics, where they showed the SUPR-DSF instrument The SUPR-DSF is a great instrument to test protein stability by measuring intrinsic fluorescence of proteins and full spectrum upon thermal ramping or isothermal chemical denaturation. Furthermore, it uses standard black 384-well plates and seals, making it simple to test many samples at once for cheap. Thank you to our Guest speaker and Application Scientist Dr. Markus Epe for the interesting insights and to everyone attending! #viennabiocenter #protech #lifescience
