🌍 Foundation of the "Strapping Alliance" at Fachpack 2024 🌍 On September 26, 2024, during the Fachpack trade fair in Nuremberg, several renowned manufacturers came together to establish the "Project Alliance Strapping." This new alliance aims to actively represent the interests of the strapping industry across Europe and to collaboratively address future challenges in packaging regulations. The members include leading companies from Germany and other European countries such as Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, and Poland. 🛠️ Our focus: We have the mission to advocate strongly for the industry's needs, especially concerning the upcoming EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), which will require future reuse quotas for packaging—including pallet strapping. However, since reuse is not technically or safely feasible, this regulation could effectively prohibit many applications and have a significant impact on our customers supply chains. 📌 Our goal: we therefore urge Brussels to amend the regulation. Together with other industry associations, we are committed to a corrected PPWR version that provides legal certainty and allows for future-proof planning.
