On August 28th, 2024, the second Steering Committee Meeting took place in the dynamic city of Bucharest, Romania. The evening prior, a social dinner provided a memorable culinary experience, allowing partners to exchange insights and experiences in a relaxed setting. 🍴 😋 🔏 The meeting began with a presentation from the Romanian National Company for Road Infrastructure Administration (NCRIA), which offered valuable insights into the organization’s structure and an overview of its past, current, and planned ITS deployments. The National Access Point and its evaluation were also discussed, along with key past projects. 🚦 The meeting continued with status updates on all relevant milestones and deliverables. It was emphasised that X4ITS is having a significant impact on traffic management systems through the deployment of ITS and is further improving safety and traffic flow in the member states. 💶 After scheduling the next technical workshops and Steering Committee meetings, the session concluded with updates on communication as well as periodic and financial reporting. We extend our gratitude to our Romanian partners for hosting and organizing this event and for being such welcoming and hospitable hosts. 🙌

Grenzüberschreitende Zusammenarbeit für Intelligente Verkehrssysteme in Mitteleuropa
Info

🌍 Teamwork makes the Dream Work! 🚀 At the heart of the X4ITS project lies a strong commitment to collaboration. With 27 partners working together, maintaining a high level of cooperation is essential. But our efforts don’t stop there – we’re also dedicated to fostering connections with other corridor projects to drive innovation and success across the board. 🤝 To ensure we stay on the same page, we hold regular meetings with other corridor initiative like MERIDIAN and MATIS where key insights, best practices, and support are shared among participants. These gatherings are crucial for aligning our strategies and reinforcing our collective goals. 💡 On November 7th November from 09:00 to 10:30, we’ll be hosting our second joint workshop at the NAPCORE Mobility Data Days in Turin, Italy in close cooperation with NAPCORE. This event will be a unique opportunity to connect our projects, share knowledge, and strengthen our collaborative efforts in mobility data and beyond. 🚦 More info on the Mobility Data Days: https://lnkd.in/g_wRuYxp Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build bridges and drive progress together! #X4ITS #Cooperation #Innovation #MobilityData #Collaboration #CrossCorridor #NAPCORE #Partnerships #Sustainability

The second part of the workshop was filled with interesting insights given by Thorsten Miltner (city of Kassel) and Elisabeth Burghard (city of Graz). Both agreed that one of the beneficial side effects of implementing C-ITS is the gathering of valuable data, which will be useful in the future and can be used for several purposes. 🗃️ Gernot Lenz (City of Vienna) provided an intriguing insight into the use cases in Vienna and mentioned that due to a strong cooperation with Wiener Linien, there are already significant benefits at this early stage of implementation. 🚋 András Selmeczy showcased C-ITS use cases in Hungary and highlighted the importance of collecting and analyzing CAM data to gain valuable insights. To enhance safety for Vulnerable Road Users (VRUs), in one use case, lidar and camera recognition were connected to visual warning lights via C-ITS. 🚶♀️🚴 In conclusion, there are unexpected benefits, such as the collection of useful data with numerous possibilities for exploration and utilization. It was pointed out that cross-border cooperation has brought fruitful improvements in the past and that sharing knowledge is the key to success. 🤝🌟 So let's now dive into a demonstration by the Hungarian partners before we gain insight into project management!
