I’m stoked to announce my involvement with Team Happy Wanderer for this year's ROLEX #SydneytoHobart yacht race! With no prior offshore racing experience, this incredible journey will take me from a novice to competing in one of the world’s toughest sailing ocean races in under 6 weeks.   This program is promoting the value of veterans and raising funds for the charity Wandering Warriors. Our mission is to support the Special Operations community, and I’m proud to be part of this cause. Advancing Operational Energy Solutions in Defence with 3ME Technology! We are thrilled to share our support for the recent release of the Defence Future Energy Strategy and Defence Net Zero Strategy. We are humbled to see Australia's first #hybrid #electric Protected Mobility Vehicle (#Stealthmaster) featured in both documents. Our innovative project in collaboration with Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) and #RICO involved converting a conventional diesel-powered, medium-rigid, armoured personnel carrier into a hybrid electric vehicle. Capability enhancements included increased speed/torque, decreased noise, substantial #silentwatch plus export power, and a reduced heat/thermal signature. Additionally, it demonstrated the potential for increased logistics simplification. 3ME Technology conducted a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary systems integration on this vehicle. Our efforts included the control system software development, design and manufacture of the ultra-safe traction battery system, electrical power distribution units and cabling; combustion engine selection and integration, full e-drive train (dual-motor) design and integration, thermal management system (TMS), cyber-secure telemetry system, and functional safety systems.  The output is the #Stealthmaster drivetrain which can now be adapted for other military vehicles. Was great to attend Australian Defence Magazine Defence Financing Summit this week! The discussions during the event highlighted the crucial role private capital can play in strengthening Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities. I had the opportunity to interview Justin Bain CEO of 3ME Technology - a leader in advanced systems integration and electrification for off-highway vehicles in mining, defence, aerospace, and marine sectors. We discussed his journey in financing the growth of 3ME, the positive impact of bringing on Australian Business Growth Fund (ABGF) as an investor, and the vital work his team are doing in the defence sector.

3ME Technology was proud to sponsor the Regals Junior Hockey Club Kangas and U12’s girls hockey teams this year in #Newcastle. The United States Department of Defense is accelerating its transition to hybrid tactical vehicles! 3ME Technology is honoured to have been invited to the Tactical EV Conference, #TEVCON in San Diego, created by energy warrior Tom Holm, Executive Director of the Energy Defense Council. We are especially honored that our CEO Justin Bain (JB) was invited to speak on electrification #innovation from an Australian perspective. We shared our progress and learnings gained from the deployment of lithium-ion powered vehicles in the #tough and #remote environments found in #Australian underground mines. JB explained how the mining industry has been an ideal proving ground for our EV Powertrains, which were then adapted to Defence applications, including our delivery of the first and iconic produced, Bushmaster, electrified in collaboration with Australian Army #RICO and Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG). For those interested to understand more about the US Army’s plan to hybridize their tactical wheeled fleet - we encourage you to read the excellent GM Defense sponsored, US issue paper: #PowerProjection: Accelerating the #Electrification of US Military developed by Tate Nurkin and Reed Blackmoore at the Atlantic Council Global Energy Center; and Sowcraft Centre for Strategy and Security.   The paper outlines the US Army’s plan to transition most of their #tactical wheeled fleet to #HybridElectric over the next 15 years (as per the US Army’s #ClimateStrategy).
