The 2024 NDIS price review continues to threaten the vital support that many people with disabilities rely on daily. A recent NDS survey reveals that if these issues aren’t addressed, up to 75% of providers may have to reduce or cease their services, putting NDIS participants at serious risk. Your voice matters! Join us in urging the NDIA and Government to take immediate action. Safeguard your choice and control over your supports. www.4aBetterNDIS.com.au #4aBetterNDIS

October is ADHD Awareness Month! The theme for 2024 is ‘Awareness is Key’. By raising awareness, we can promote greater understanding, acceptance, and support for the 1.2 million Australians living with ADHD. Despite how common ADHD is, many myths and misconceptions still exist. Now is the perfect time to set the record straight! Check out this fact sheet by ADHD Australia, which dispels some of the most common myths: https://lnkd.in/gmgjZ7kX ADHD often coexists with other conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, anxiety, and sensory processing challenges. At Ability Assist, our dedicated team is here to support children, young people, and individuals with dual diagnoses, helping them reach their goals and realise their full potential. Join us this October in building better understanding, fostering greater acceptance, and advocating for more support for people with ADHD. 🌟💙

📣 Great News for NDIS Participants! 🎉 We at Ability Assist are excited to see the National Disability Insurance Agency's recent decision to reinstate pricing for high intensity supports for complex behaviours, effective this October. This is a significant win for participants and their families, ensuring that those with higher support needs continue to receive the care and assistance they deserve. While this is a positive step forward, there's still more to be done. We stand alongside others in the sector in calling for fair pricing for support coordination, allied health supports, a 1% loading for registered providers, and independent pricing. Let’s keep pushing for a fair and equitable NDIS that supports all participants to thrive. 💪 Join us in advocating for a stronger NDIS by supporting the campaign at www.4abetterndis.com.au. #4ABetterNDIS

With the recent news that the NDIS is strengthening its registration system, this raises an important question: why does it matter if participants choose a registered NDIS provider? At Ability Assist, we’re proud to be a Registered NDIS Provider, offering Supported Independent Living (SIL) services and more, with a commitment to quality, safety, and transparency. While being registered with the NDIS doesn’t automatically mean a provider offers better services, it does come with benefits that can help participants make an informed choice. 🌟 The CEO Collab Joins the Peaks in Canberra! 🌟 Last week we joined the provider peaks in Canberra meeting with members of parliament as part of the www.4abetterndis.com.au campaign We’re calling on the NDIA to urgently: 1. Reinstate high intensity supports for participants with behaviour support needs. 2. Pass on wage increases to support coordination and allied health supports. 3. Implement a 1% registered provider supplement. 4. Address systemic Supported Independent Living indexation errors in participant plans. Our voices matter and your support is crucial in ensuring that the NDIS provides the necessary funding and specialised support for those who need it most. Together, we will make a difference! #4abetterndis
