The foundations of risk appetite and supporting policies, frameworks, and processes are important for improving outcomes for consumers and financial systems. Yet there is much work to be done to bring outcomes into alignment with community expectations and organisational aspirations. In this webinar, we identify a crucial role for #riskleaders to bridge the remaining gap between technical #riskmanagement and risk outcomes. We make the case that risk leaders are extremely well-suited to lead on #riskculture and guide webinar participants on an exploration of 3 qualities that risk leaders can contribute in their organisations for greater influence on risk embedment and customer outcomes.

Cultures are not static. They are living systems that evolve and sometimes devolve. But either way, they rarely stay the same. Culture should enable the aspirations, strategy and purpose of an organisation or community - however, in our work with organisations, this is not always the case. Often, in fact, culture limits rather than supports these vital elements.   The Adaptive Cultures Framework is a useful lens to understand the evolution from less adaptive to a more adaptive culture. The greater range of choices available at more adaptive stages helps organisations respond with greater agility to disruption and to determine their destiny, influencing those systems of which they are a part.   This is just one of the practical frameworks and tools explored in our Foundations of Culture Transformation program, designed to help culture practitioners build the capacity and confidence to guide their organisations through cultural evolution. We have observed that inspiring a deep sense of risk ownership in others is one of the greatest challenges risk professionals face.  ▪ What are the conditions necessary for embedding shared ownership of risk in organisations?  ▪ How can risk professionals bring about those conditions?  ▪ In what ways can risk professionals inadvertently undermine shared ownership of risk? We explore these questions and strategies to address them in our upcoming professional development program for risk professionals.
