SOCIAL IMPACT I AirTrunk is committed to making a long-term positive social and environmental contribution to our communities. One way we’re doing this is through our ground-breaking social impact program, funded by the margin incentives from our sustainability linked loans.    Key to the success of the program is AirTrunker engagement with our partner charities. Our recent ‘AirTrunk Ignite Your Impact’ event brought our team together with three of our partner charities who inspired us to make a difference to people’s lives in Malaysia, Australia and Japan by pledging our support to the causes closest to our hearts.    AirTrunk’s VP Marketing and Corporate Communications Lise Kay, whose team leads the social impact program said: "Employee engagement is a fundamental part of our social impact program, and that’s what the Ignite Your Impact session was all about. We provided an opportunity for our team to connect directly with our social impact partners, hearing from them and being inspired by their incredible human impact stories, and the difference that our support from AirTrunk can make. But we didn’t stop there, our team was also given the power to decide how our social impact funds were distributed, deepening their connection to the program and our partners even further.”    AirTrunk’s social impact program supports initiatives across Asia Pacific & Japan, focused on STEM education, equal digital access, biodiversity and conservation and sustainable innovation. For more on the program visit https://lnkd.in/gQppAY7N    Thank you to our social impact partners DeadlyScience, SOURCE Global, WWF-Singapore, Yuri Koura from Clack, and The Funding Network Australia.    Be inspired to ignite your impact.    #IgniteYourImpact #SocialImpact #CommunitySupport #Volunteering #AirTrunk #datacentre #hyperscale

Mandala’s latest research, commissioned by AirTrunk, Amazon Web Services (AWS), CDC, Microsoft and NEXTDC finds investment in Australian data centre capacity is empowering innovation, jobs, essential services and the clean energy transition. New investment in Australian data centre capacity is forecast to top $26 billion by 2030 to meet soaring digital demand driven by internet-connected devices, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, our research finds.     Data centres are a crucial component of Australia's digital infrastructure, supporting everything from everyday internet use and streaming services to essential services like emergency response and disease surveillance.     Data centre deployable capacity in Australia is projected to more than double from 1,350 megawatts (MW) in 2024 to 3,100 MW by 2030. This expansion will see a further $26 billion in infrastructure investment. Alongside this investment, Australia’s data centre workforce is projected to grow by 8,300 to reach 17,900 by 2030, with particular opportunities for new ICT professional and skilled tech trade roles, such as electricians and mechanical engineers.     Data centres have key strategic importance as part of Australia’s digital infrastructure. The digital infrastructure ecosystem is the foundation for digital capability, driving productivity, innovation and playing a crucial role in reaching the shared tech industry and Australian government goal of 1.2 million tech jobs in Australia by 2030.     Major data centre operators and their customers are committed to matching their power use with 100 per cent renewable energy by 2030. This is being driven by renewable energy Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) which create investment certainty in renewable projects.      Of global renewable energy PPAs, 45 per cent involve data centre operators, demonstrating the valuable role data centres play in catalysing the energy transition.      To fully capture the opportunity, the report makes three key recommendations advocating collaboration between governments and industry to:  🎴 Streamline planning and approval processes for development permits and power allocation to help Australia capitalise on the AI data centre growth opportunity, and create greater certainty for operators. ☀ Enable further investment and accelerate the construction of renewable energy projects, energy storage projects and transmission infrastructure to support digital infrastructure demand and transition to net zero. 👷♀️ Prioritise workforce development and training to provide the skills for a robust data centre workforce, to strengthen Australia’s digital infrastructure capabilities.  https://lnkd.in/gUBFhWcv #digitalinfrastructure #australia #digitaleconomy #tech #future
