So many benefits to rolling ! I have spent the season alternating a cut for a roll which has increased greens speeds & smoothness plus a host of other benefits !

This really does highlight the importance of having more events to play in and the global opportunities that derive from playing well. Congratulations to all the players highlighted and no doubt many more will follow suit in the future. 👏

Let’s take a moment to think about what our cultures and understanding of the world—or even our local environment—would be like without tourism as we know it today. Fascinating, isn’t it? 🌏 Tourism remains a cornerstone of the Australian economy, drawing millions of visitors each year. With globally renowned cities like Sydney and Melbourne, alongside natural marvels such as the Great Barrier Reef, our country continues to be a top destination on the world stage 🏞️. Domestic tourism is also booming, with Australians eager to explore their homeland. In 2023, domestic travel made up over 70% of all tourism spending, and this trend is expected to remain strong throughout 2024 and beyond. Whether you’re travelling far or just a short distance from home, we’re here to help you make the most of your journey. Here’s to discovering all that Australia has to offer! ✈️ #Skytrans #Airlines #Tourism #Australia

  • Golf in Tropical North Queensland   For visitors to Tropical North Queensland the Summer can be a little intense.   While the 40+ degree days of a Victorian & New South Wales heatwave are rare, the infamous Tropical North Queensland humidity averages between 70-85% during the Summer Holiday Season.   That means when you play a round of golf at the Christmas & New Year period or even just the Summer holidays you are going to get Hot & Sweaty.   So, when golfing in Tropical North Queensland make sure to always slip-slop-slap, stay hydrated, avoid playing in the hottest part of the day.   Embrace the heat & keep clothing light & loose.   Appreciate shady trees & air-conditioned club houses.   And even though it may be a little uncomfortable for those used to the milder climates of the Southern States, there is no denying the crispness of an after-game beverage in Tropical North Queensland.   The Sun may be Hot & the air may be Muggy but the Beer is always Icy Cold.   Learn more at: info@albatrossnqgolftours.com.au Or find a golf tour that suits your needs at https://lnkd.in/g6A56qq   Follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn & Facebook @albatrossnq #comeseetnq #comeseenq #golfcairns #golfathertontablelands #golftropoicalnq #golftownsville #cairnsgolf #portdouglasgolf #athertontablelandsgolf #WhyNot #thisisqueensland

  • Does Anyone like Slow Play? Slow play. The tedious terror of the fairway. The time-wasting torment that grinds golfers the world over. Every player has experienced slow play on some level, whether they’re stuck behind a dawdler or they’re the dawdler themselves! Slow play can turn a quick 18 holes into a saga. No one likes breathing down another player’s neck or wasting a day waiting while the group in front ambles about at glacial speeds. Slow play can drive a wedge between players and sour a day on the greens. In extreme instances, it may even cut a game short, as patience snaps and tempers flare. It seems only fair that the average golfer be able to play at a reasonable speed in a reasonable manner. But then again, what if there are those out there who like slow play? What if there are golfers who lack the drive to hustle from hole to hole? The kind of golfers that prefer to pause and really relish the smooth sweep of the lawns, the sweet scent of grass clippings, the lazy chirp of nearby birds. What if these golfers use the game as an escape from the very same efficiency that shapes the rest of their lives? Golf may be their only opportunity to literally slow down. Their leisurely 18 holes that drive others to madness may be their version of meditation. What if, by insisting a ‘quick game’s a good game’, other players are encroaching on what could be a desperately needed balm for a very tired spirit? Yes, these slow players impact others, but perhaps some golfers just like slow play. Perhaps they should be left alone to their lingering and considered shots. Perhaps there’s a lesson to be taken from their apparent lack of concern for the impatience of their playing companions. Maybe it’s time for us all to pause and listen to those birds, to smell those grass clippings and soak up that skyline. Life is already a mile a minute, with appointments and deadlines and bustling to and fro. Does this hurry need to be carried over onto the course? Golf is a game that can be savoured. Maybe it’s time we all slowed down and did just that.
