Treasurer Jim Chalmers has confirmed that there would be no changes to negative gearing on the cards any time soon. The Treasurer highlighted the fact that such changes would not encourage an increase in property supply - which Australia desperately needs. The data actually suggests it would do the opposite. What is also important to note is that negative gearing isn't actually found in Australia's tax legislation. It is simply a by-product of the tax rules that allow losses to be claimed where the expenses of holding an asset exceed the income generated. Another win for common sense. #Property #AustralianProperty #RealEstate #Ally #AllyProperty #AllyPropertyGroup

RBA Holds Rates Steady! At Ally Property Group, we’re keeping a close watch on the latest RBA commentary and their decision to keep the cash rate at 4.35%. While we don’t expect any further rate increases, cuts are unlikely before early 2025. The RBA’s focus remains on bringing inflation back to its target, and while rates are holding, we may need to wait until next year to see any rate cuts. #RBA #InterestRates #AllyPropertyGroup #AustralianProperty #PropertyInvestment #RealEstate
