Meet Ciara Crimmins, Cyber Detection & Response Manager at AMP. Ciara joined as a Graduate seven years ago, and after various rotations in the business, she found her passion in Cyber Security.   “I studied Maths and Computer Science at university but was really confused about what I wanted to do. In the Graduate Program, I did a few rotations where I used my maths skills, but when the Head of Cyber mentioned they needed someone to help with analytics and reporting, I jumped at the opportunity. This was the start of my journey in Cyber Security, where I’ve built foundational and technical skills while working on key projects.   “When I started, I was part of a team that established AMP’s Cyber Defence Centre, something I’m really proud of, especially after not initially thinking I would work in the space!   “My first role was as a Cyber Analyst, then I progressed to a Threat Intel Specialist role for four years, and have now landed a promotion for my current role this June. I’ve been able to grow my career at AMP, transitioning from a graduate into a management role.   “While I love working with my team, being a woman in a male dominated space has been tough. However, I’ve been inspired by seeing many senior women leaders across AMP, including our CTO Kavita Mistry, CEO Alexis George and the board. I’ve built my confidence through the opportunities I've been given and continue to learn in the short time I’ve lead a team. AMP’s Technology and Cyber teams are much more diverse now and it’s been inspiring to see such successful women lead the space at AMP in recent years.   “For me, it also comes down to diversity of perspective. When I came into Cyber, I didn’t have a cyber background, which my leader valued. People from other backgrounds shed light on how we can do things differently. There’s been a conscious focus on this at AMP and it shows in our teams.”   Ciara was recently nominated in the Australian Women in Security Awards 2024 for ‘The One to Watch in Protective Security’.   “It’s very exciting, they reached out to me earlier this year to let me know. It’s an odd feeling when you think you’re just doing your job, and someone recognises your work and nominates you for something like this.”   Ciara is passionate about putting customers first and making sure they are protected when they interact with AMP. “In Cyber, you’re often sitting once removed from the customer. This makes it even more important to keep them at the forefront of what we do.”   Outside of work, Ciara enjoys Aerial Hoop or Lyra, an activity where a hoop is suspended from the ceiling and used to perform movements and tricks in the air. “I enjoy the exercise and the strong community aspect too. I also love cooking and disconnecting from work to cook delicious meals.   "Something I live by is ‘live each day to the fullest’. I think we work so that we can live outside of work. Having a supportive leader and organisation enables me to do all the things I love.”   #AMPeople

Today is R U OK? Day, a reminder about how important connection and contact are on our mental wellbeing. R U OK? Day is about having regular, honest conversations with the people around you about what’s really going on, so if they find themselves struggling, they know you’re someone they can talk to. At AMP we’re really lucky to have 70 amazing Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders). These are team members from across the company that have had training to recognise and respond to someone experiencing a mental health problem. Yesterday, some of our MHFAiders attended a Lifeline Australia lunch with our CEO Alexis George to recognise Suicide Prevention Day. It highlighted the fact that anyone can experience mental health problems, and we need to keep talking about it. #AMPeople Lauren Allen Rocco Musumeci Stewart Neale Claire Dawson (Bratley) Taryn Campbell Laura Bridge Anela Renee Gatley Donna Eyles Undine Goodbury

Just wrapped up the 2 day Leader Lab which is part of an incredible six-month EMERGE Development Program at AMP! It was the start of a transformative journey that challenged me to grow and think differently. I learned about the importance of self-leadership and applying The Founder's Mindset. I also discovered the power of stepping out of my comfort zone and entering the growth edge while being careful not to enter the anxiety zone. One of the highlights was learning from Michelle Reinisch's insightful sharing on leadership. She emphasized the importance of taking care of yourself, shifting leadership styles, and empowering others. I'm grateful for the opportunity, the new friendships, and the connections I've made. Excited to continue this journey and apply what I've learned to make a greater impact! #AMPeople #AMPlifyingMyPotential #CreatingMyTomorrow

"PayPal told me to install AnyDesk" 🤔 Have you ever been asked to download an app by a seemingly legitimate company? Scammers often use this tactic to gain remote access to your device and steal your personal information or perform unauthorised transactions. 💻📲💰 Recently, we learned of a customer who fell victim to a scam like this... A fraudster impersonating PayPal convinced them to download remote access software (AnyDesk), which allowed them to attempt a fraudulent $21,000 transaction. Luckily, our fraud detection system flagged the scam, and our fraud analyst was able to stop the fraudulent activity in its tracks. Well done team! Remember: ❗️ Legitimate companies and government organisations will never ask you to download an app for security purposes. ❗️ Be cautious of unsolicited calls or emails. ❗️ If you're unsure, verify the contact information directly through the organisation’s official website. Let's stay vigilant and protect ourselves from these scams. Share this post to help spread awareness! #ScamAwarenessWeek #shareyourstory #ScamsWeek24 AMP AMP Bank

We’re ‘super’ excited to see our new AMP Super campaign kick off! Our research told us that a lot of Australians are disengaged with their superannuation. So, we wanted to create a new campaign that gets their attention and helps bring them ‘closer to their super’.   You can check out one of our new ads below. Staying close to your super – yes. Staying close to your barista – maybe not.   Read more on our newsroom here: https://lnkd.in/gkBiK-GX   #AMPSuper Melinda Howes Claire Dawson (Bratley) Julia Lees
