The doors are closing on PACK EXPO 2024 here in Chicago! What a show it has been in the Windy City, we’ve continued to build upon our global relations with associations from all over the world, supported and stopped by our few Aussies that are here at the show, and we’ve showcased APPEX 2027 and the Aussie industry to the world! Day 3 is all done here in Chicago! Denni Egan, Abigail Ford and Lindy Hughson attended the Packaging & Processing Women in Leadership Breakfast - with guest speaker, Lisa Sun of Gravitas. Lisa spoke about confidence and how confidence is a choice and a mindset before it is a behaviour. As Lisa mentioned, Dumbo didn’t need a feather to fly, he just needed to remember he could… We also stopped by the A&D Australasia team in Julian "shambles" Horsley with his North American colleagues to find out more about their products and services. And finally, we got to hear from our friends at Automate UK as CEO, Peter Williamson CDir spoke to an audience on the current state of manufacturing and automation in the UK. Day 2 is a close here in Chicago, and what a day it has been… We’ve been fortunate enough to have spoken to many visitors about APPEX and attending Australasia’s largest processing and packaging exhibition. Gearing up our USA colleagues to make the trip Down Under is always a fun task, but despite the question about our kangaroos and spiders, we’ve proven to them that APPEX is the place to be if they want to do business in Aus! Michael and Denni were also invited to attend the International Association’s Lunch, with colleagues from the USA, United Kingson, Italy, Spain, France, Korea, Japan and China - as we all shared our knowledge on what our members are experiencing on the ground… Despite being a smaller market, many of our challenges are the same across the globe, so working together is integral in finding solutions and innovations to move forward. And of course, we got to catch up with some Aussies who have, like us, made the trip across shores to the Windy City! Day 1 at PACK EXPO was a great kickstart to North America’s largest trade show! We got around to a number of theatre sessions to ensure we can bring this knowledge back to Australian shores and use it to help our members via upcoming events, research and activities. We also saw plenty of APPMA Member companies on the show floor as their US branches showcased the company’s innovations to the world!
