🙌 Celebrating Women Who Make Waves in the Aquatics & Recreation Industry 🌊💜 What happens when passionate industry leaders come together to celebrate, inspire, and drive change? 🤩 Something truly incredible. This International Women’s Day, we had the privilege of witnessing exactly that—a powerful collaboration between Aquatic and Recreation Institute (ARI NSW) and Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) that brought together an inspiring community to honour the women shaping the Aquatics & Recreation industry. 🔹 Dr. Marlee King captivated us with her keynote, reflecting on her journey & delivering amazing insights. The presentation covered: - How people can "fall into" careers in aquatics and fitness (and that's ok). - Building confidence and momentum when you didn’t plan for a leadership role. - Strategies for sustaining success and professional growth despite an unconventional path. 🔹 Our incredible panellists shared personal stories that highlighted both the challenges and opportunities for women in the sector. One of our favourite quotes from the panel challenged our sector to work together to: “Let’s make more room at the table” for women leaders. 📢 ⚠️ Tropical Cyclone Alfred update ⚠️ Aquatic and Recreation Institute (ARI NSW) sends our support to our members and partners in the NSW Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers, & our partners and friends in QLD - Aquatics & Recreation Queensland (ARQ). With Cyclone Alfred approaching, it is important to stay informed and prepared to keep yourselves and your teams safe. NSW State Emergency Service has advised communities in the Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers to prepare for damaging and destructive winds, large powerful surf, coastal erosion and heavy rainfall with Tropical Cyclone Alfred expected to cross the coast late Thursday or early Friday.
