Arlula provides the infrastructure and single access point that allows users to procure, manage and process satellite imagery at scale. Founded in 2018, Arlula aims to connect the value of Earth observation data from orbit to people and businesses on the ground. We have partnered with commercial and Government satellite operators, research institutions and technology companies to create the infrastructure that fuels the growth of the EO industry. GEOSTACK Traditionally, gaining access to imagery satellites and the data sets they produce has been costly and time consuming. Lengthy negotiation processes and a general lack of transparency in the industry have led to a low rate of commercial adoption of the technology. Our API's streamline the process of searching, ordering and managing satellite data. Our web based approach makes it easy to integrate satellite imagery and spatial data into applications, workflows and decision making processes. By aggregating a global network of satellite imagery suppliers through a single cloud based access point, Arlula eliminates the need for multiple technical integration points, legals, business contracts, pricing, payment models and automation.

Arlula recently had the chance to have our CEO, Sebastian Chaoui and our Head of Product, Matthew Hodgkiss attend the 2024 Lockheed Martin demo day in Washington DC. It was a great chance to learn more about customer pain points and across defense and US government sectors. Thank you to John Richmond, Xiaoming Yin, Ph.D for helping Arlula get ready to pitch at the Lockheed Martin demo day last month! It was an incredibly 2 day experience where Matthew Hodgkiss and I were able get in front of senior Lockheed leadership and deep dive on organisational pain points. We were able to learn not only how Lockheed leverages GEOINT data and satellite imagery, but how Arlula could help the US Government more broadly. Big takeaways are that satellite operators, businesses and governments are trying to find new ways to distribute, manage and share EO data and derived geospatial products. This infrastructure gap between satellite operators and data buyers is growing not shrinking and needs to be solved. For satellite operators who run EO missions, we learnt that its a huge challenge to serve and grow their largest customers. If a customer places an order for 1 million sqkm of satellite imagery, how do you deliver that data to the customer quickly? How do you help the customer work out what new captures are required to fulfill the order in an automated way? Most importantly, how do you make sure that customer is getting the full benefits of your data and will want to buy more next time? For the customers who buy large quantities of EO data, the major problem they face is how they will make that spatial imagery data accessible across the organisation. How do you enable different teams to integrate that data into new apps and workflows seamlessly? Whilst we were in the US we found that a lot of different organisations had this problem. They would procure a huge amount of satellite imagery and then struggle to get as much value as possible out of it. Arlula is already solving these problems today, but we've now been given a roadmap from the biggest players in Earth Observation on the planet to solve the next generation of problems in this industry. Now that I'm back in Sydney, I think the Arlula team is more focused and is ready to solve these challenges across both sides of the market. #earthobservation #satellite #imagery #data #bigdata #space #EO
