Cyber risk is a whole of company issue. The UK Government’s draft Cyber Code of Practice sets out its expectations regarding the governance of cyber security and the actions that directors, including non-executives, need to consider to meet their responsibilities in managing cyber risk. Does your board understand the crucial role it plays? At our recent cyber readiness roundtable, held in the beautiful setting of the Crypt of St Paul's Cathedral, we provided our insights and facilitated a discussion for female directors on: ▪️ the role of the board in ransom payment decisions; ▪️ lessons learnt from post-incident reviews regarding board responsibilities; ▪️ the role of the board in managing post-incident cyber risk; ▪️ strategies for handling regulatory investigations, remediation and rebuilding trust. The question every board should now be asking: can we demonstrate that we’re cyber-ready today? We're working with boards to test readiness, run simulations and support ongoing governance. A huge thank you to all who attended the event, and to our hosts Karen Davies and Robin Lawther.

Our new podcast mini-series has launched, exploring the shifting landscape of corporate governance and compliance. Episode one spotlights the EU's first Omnibus package and how it will impact sustainability reporting and due diligence for companies outside the EU. https://lnkd.in/eVeqU6mc Will Chalk and Becky Clissmann are joined by FALCON WINDSOR LTD's Claire Bodanis to offer practical advice for companies grappling with the amended directives and they explain how the market is reacting to this period of uncertainty. They also debate whether or not the changes will simplify compliance and achieve genuine deregulation. And they emphasise the importance for companies to focus on strategic preparation, monitoring of regulatory developments, and transparency in reporting.
