"Every future U.S. #election will be highly consequential for AUKUS. However, two things make this November’s election particularly important. It will be the first political test of sustained U.S. political commitment to AUKUS. Whichever candidate wins will be inheriting an agreement they did not sign." Asia Society Australia CEO Anthony Bubalo and Research Associate Dominique Fraser share insights from #Australia on what’s at stake for #AUKUS in the upcoming presidential election. 🇦🇺🇬🇧🇺🇸 #ASPIBallotBox Swipe for more insights and read the full essay here: https://lnkd.in/g6-iUqky

At Asia Society Australia the most important thing we do is to promote, support and celebrate the role of Asian-Australians in our relations with Asia. Yesterday, in partnership with RMIT Asia Trade and Innovation Hub Business Council of Australia and Australian Industry Group (Ai Group), and supported by the Victorian Government, we held the inaugural Asia in Victoria Forum. It discussed the role of Asian-Australians in public life and in supporting Australia's trade and investment in Asia. It also discussed how we might work more effectively with international students from Asia to promote connections with the region. Three great panels produced terrific, thought-provoking insights.

Last week, the Asia Society Hong Kong Center, in partnership with Asia Society Australia, and the RMIT Asia Trade and Innovation Hub, hosted an event in Hong Kong to celebrate the Australia-Hong Kong relationship. The event welcomed Hong Kong-based RMIT alumni, providing an opportunity to reconnect and recognise the importance of people-to-people links in strengthening Australia’s relationship with the region. Attendees heard from Professor Alec Cameron, Vice-Chancellor and President of RMIT University, who spoke about the value of shared expertise and close regional partnerships. This was followed by a fireside chat between Professor Cameron, Alex Bailey, Head of Global Strategic Innovation at AT&T Business International and RMIT alumnus, and S. Alice Mong, President of the Asia Society Hong Kong Center.
