Assorted Grains' mission extends beyond just showcasing local talent. It focuses on making the creative sector highly visible and fostering connections among various micro-organisations doing incredible work. “Our core mission is to work with artists to build their visibility, to give them local opportunities to perform for the community and raise the value of the arts in the local community by doing so,” she said. Assorted Grains is also spearheading flagship programs, including Logan’s first film festival and a pride festival with an arts-centric approach. These initiatives are designed to benefit both the community and the artists, promoting cultural engagement and mental health benefits. “For me, there’s a huge amount of benefit to having engagement with the creative sector,” Ali said. “It’s about learning about each other, connecting across cultures, and recognizing the universal value of the arts.” By prioritising local artists and facilitating a platform for skill-sharing and resource exchange, Assorted Grains aims to build a resilient and interconnected creative community in Logan. “Assorted Grains is not just about arts, it is about enhancing community well-being, fostering local talent, and creating a thriving cultural ecosystem.” “Even if you don’t feel like you’re creative, we all benefit from engaging with creativity.” Thank you Logan West News for this incredible story! https://lnkd.in/g6-vh78Q

🌈 Happy Pride Month! 🌈 As part of our mission to support our diverse arts community, we are raising funds to support Loud and Proud Logan. Our proposed program features over 110 LGBTQIA+ performers and artists plus a wide range of LGBTQIA+ community members working together to create a positive impact for our city - but we need your help. As an unfunded organisation, we are reliant upon the generosity of the community to secure funds and ensure a successful event. The good news? Thanks to the ACF Boost program, Creative Australia have committed to match all contributions, meaning your investment will be doubled! Our deadline for this funding is June 30! 🌈 https://lnkd.in/gWjsd-CX Your Support Matters • $50 (matched to $100 via ACF): Supports more live arts workshops, providing opportunities to co-create and share experiences and show everyone's contribution is valued • $100 (Matched to $200 via ACF): Supports more participants in our community, gender-inclusive fashion show at Loud and Proud • $500 (matched to $1000 via ACF): Supports the production of our outdoor stage with 8 fabulous LGBTQIA+ bands and DJs at Logan Loud and Proud • $1000 (Matched to $2000 via ACF): Fully supports our LGBTQIA+ Women's Portrait Exhibition , featuring 10 wonderful local models, ensuring our queer community are seen and valued. But what does the community say about it? "I've lived in Logan for most of my life, but I haven't always felt like I belonged here. That's why I'm really excited for Logan, Loud & Proud. So people like me, know that they belong in the community and see other people who look just like them..." - Grace Double your impact. #MakingCultureHappen Help us bring this celebration to life so we can showcase the city's strength, embrace our diversity and promote inclusion before June 30. Every donation over $2 is tax deductible. 🌈 https://lnkd.in/gWjsd-CX

Thanks so much Joseph and the Logan Community Bank crew. Your allyship and support means a lot to the community. 🌈
June is celebrated globally as Pride Month. Whilst it is important to recognise the importance this month holds to so many people, it is equally important to show support outside of this month. It is for this reason that my email signature identifies me as an ally year round. It is for this reason my branch has a you are welcome here sticker in the front door and why when given the chance to take part of Assorted Grains Inc initiative of creating and identifying safe spaces in Logan, I didn't hesitate to sign my branch up, adding their sticker to the door and signs throughout the branch. "It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences." — Audre Lorde

Liz Irvine did a wonderful thing and introduced the Safe Spaces Logan campaign to the wonderful people at Multicultural Australia! Consequently, they invited us to come along as special guests to their #IDAHOBIT afternoon tea in Logan Central - and asked me to speak about the initiative and what it means for our community. It was a great chance to share what the Safe Spaces Logan initiative is all about and welcome Multicultural Australia on board. I look forward to chatting more to Heath and the team about how we can support each other in this space going forward. Thank you so much for the invite!

🏳️🌈 Why sign up as a Safe Space in Logan? 🏳️🌈 Visibility matters. Why? Because it helps create a culture of acceptance and belonging for our LGBTQIA+ community. Because everyone deserves to feel like they are safe. Everyone deserves to feel like they belong. And everyone should feel safe when engaging with their local services, businesses and communities. Knowing that you're welcome (without having to ask first) can make all the difference in the world. Why not put your hand up as a Safe Space in Logan? Find out more here >> https://buff.ly/4bdbzfm
