A new study has found not a single baby or toddler food product sold in Australian supermarkets meets standards set by the World Health Organization. Of the 309 products assessed: - Only around one fifth of the products – 22% – met all criteria for nutrient composition, with most failing on sugar and calorie content. - None met the promotional requirements, which prohibits all claims except those related to allergens, religious claims and vegetarian/vegan claims. We strongly support the introduction of stricter regulations to improve the nutritional quality of baby and toddler foods and clearer (and less deceptive) labelling so parents can make informed decisions. We started Audrey & Alfie to create a healthy alternative to the current supermarket offerings, offering products made from whole foods and ensuring meals are nutritionally balanced.

Gosh... reading about ourselves (and our started-little-but-growing venture) in beautiful, enriching and well-known magazines like The Natural Parent is quite the 'pinch me' moment. Overall, we're just thrilled that we get to do, and be recognised, for what we set out to achieve: To provide busy parents with genuinely nutritious, home-made style meals and snacks, without them needing to plan and prepare them at home. Because we believe that parents are juggling enough these days. You see, we've been there, and still are. We've juggled numerous commitments on top of being a parent. We've had to choose between preparing nutritious meals & snacks for our children, and time for ourselves. And we've ended up exhausted. Hearing from our customers that our products have helped to ease the mental and physical load of parenting is the absolute best. And reading articles like this is pretty cool, too.
