Townsville has over 180km of highly active coastline stretching from Crystal creek to Cungulla (this site). Dry Cyclone Kirrily hit with cat 2-3 wind intensity to some very vulnerable areas. Many homes lost over 10m of crictial protective foreshore and essential vegetation. Teams had only 4 days to complete essential works in declared heat wave conditions before the largest tides of the year hit the dunes again. A bit like my bank account, beaches have occasional deposit of sand - and withdrawals. It’s an ever changing thing..
