#Harmonisation // The Harmonisation of Rail Standards Research Report is a jointly funded report by the ARA, National Transport Commission, Office of National Rail Industry Coordination (Department of Industry, Science and Resources) and the Rail Industry Safety and Standards Board (Australia) which outlines a strategy for industry to achieve national harmonisation of the rail network. The report by GHD Advisory proposes a national body oversee the development of a National Rail Standards Harmonisation Strategy, in conjunction with industry, and identifies several key initiatives. These initiatives are aimed at increasing operational interoperability and improving type approval processes to enable better economies of scale for suppliers, as well as improving safety and lowering training costs. Harmonised standards would also support better uptake of technologies and innovation as well as decarbonisation by improving mode share as the industry transitions to net zero. 📄 Read the full Harmonisation of Rail Standards Research Report: https://lnkd.in/eBJynpPf 💡 Read the Summary Report: https://lnkd.in/eFDkPa-8 💻 Join GHD Advisory for an online webinar on Thursday14 November from 3 - 4:30 PM (AEDT) for presentations on the key findings. https://lnkd.in/gDwzK2T5
