Monday's far away and this Thick-tailed Gecko knows it! Despite his defensive stance, he was ready to rock this photoshoot. Kudos to Brendan Sydes for this snapshot. Keep those good vibes rolling in! #GeckoVibes

We won’t give up until Australia’s nature is protected and regenerated. Nature needs us, now.
About us
We’re the Australian Conservation Foundation, Australia’s national environment organisation. Since 1965, we’ve protected the nature we all love – our unique wildlife and our beautiful beaches and bush. Driven by the power of people, we won World Heritage listing for the Great Barrier Reef and Kakadu National Park, and returned precious water to the rivers of the Murray-Darling. We influence governments and businesses to protect the animals, rivers and reefs close to our hearts and hold decision-makers to account without fear or favour. Everything we do is evidence-based and helps nature and people thrive for generations to come. We won’t give up until Australia’s nature is protected and regenerated. Nature needs us, now. Woolworths and Coles are still allowing deforestation in their supply chains – putting the homes of countless Australian wildlife at risk. But together, we can change that. What can you do? Sign the open letter demanding Woolworths and Coles commit to selling deforestation-free beef, protect our ecosystems, and support farmers who are safeguarding nature while growing our food. Let's protect wildlife and rebuild healthy landscapes. https://acf.to/3zHYFch

Do you know about the endangered Top End nabarlek? Their homes are under threat, and they might only survive on Mt Borradaile now. ACF's latest report shows the sad state of extinction roulette playing out in Australia. When will the @albomp government deliver on the promised nature protection laws? Nearly 40 environment groups have written to the PM, urging him to “demonstrate the political leadership required” and negotiate with the Senate crossbench to amend nature legislation to better deal with the climate crisis and native forest logging. https://acf.to/3U1PJ8i

We've just launched a groundbreaking piece of technology with The Superpower Institute that will uncover the truth about Australia's coal and gas emissions. Introducing... Open Methane. This platform will hold big polluters accountable and provide even more evidence about the dangers posed by coal and gas projects to our climate, nature and local communities. You can't ignore this evidence, and we're looking straight at every member of the Albanese government that is doing the opposite of climate action by approving new coal and gas projects. Check it out! https://acf.to/3Bzn8RB

The sun may not be shining on the Global Nature Positive Summit today, but the spotlight is certainly on Australia’s broken nature laws in parliament. As global leaders, scientists, and conservationists come together to shape a future where both people and nature can thrive, one thing is glaringly absent: Labor’s long-promised reforms to fix our broken nature laws. Anthony Albanese and Tanya Plibersek - now is the time to step up for nature.

New polling reveals Australians truly love nature. This might be a no-brainer for some, but our Federal government needs to hear it. Here's another fact to add to the mix - a whopping 99% of Australians say it's important future generations can enjoy Australia’s natural wonders. Don't let us all down, Prime Minister. Do the right thing by nature in parliament—we need stronger nature laws now.

As Australia hosts the Global Nature Positive Summit in Sydney today, two of Australia's largest environment organisations, Australian Conservation Foundation and WWF-Australia, have called on the Albanese government to show leadership and pass stronger nature laws through parliament. New polling out today reveals 87 per cent of people support stronger nature protection laws and that 91 percent agree Australian businesses should do more to protect nature. This should send a sobering message to Prime Minister Albanese to do the right thing for nature and the Australian public, and not succumb to the interests of the mining lobby.
