  • What You Missed. AIW QLD’s Waterproofing with Polyurea Membranes Talk about team effort! Seven industry players and four top speakers joined forces to give back to waterproofers and construction professionals last week at the AIW Queensland’s mega tech and demo event in Salisbury. Polyurea membranes have a good reputation but have frustrating aspects, especially in their application so at this meeting, tips and tricks were explained together with info on application, equipment, substrate types, preparation, testing and quality control. Check out the pics and video. A big shout out to our generous sponsors, FOSROC, GCP, GLINCOAT, GRACO, PHILLRO and Master Painters Association for their generous support with equipment, premises and knowledge sharing. Thank you also to Scott Whitelaw (GCP), Brad Adams (Phillro), Peter Godfrey (Phillro) and Alan Glindemann (Glindemann Industrial Coatings) for your time in providing robust information to AIW members. #AIWevents #AIWQLD #waterproofingeducation #polyureamembranes

  • Member Profile – Get to Know, Concrete Protection Concrete Protection has been a long-standing source of waterproofing solutions over the past 50 years and a loyal member of the Australian Institute of Waterproofing. The company’s primary role is a product supplier to trade customers marrying its own brands with big players such as SIKA, MAPEI and Ardex. Service Expansion Concrete Protection offers more than just products. In response to needs of its inners suburban customers, they expanded the business model to provide advice and site visits, and connected customers with independent consultants for complicated residential and commercial projects. Responding to the changing demands of industry (especially in respect to Performance Solutions), Concrete Protection has grown into the role of providing ‘expert judgement’ in developing and documenting solutions as part of building design teams. Giving Back A big part of Concrete Protection’s culture (and success) is the team’s willingness to contribute to the industry. Both directors, Mike Fudge and David Hepworth have given their professional knowledge and personal time to the waterproofing industry through their service to the Australian Institute of Waterproofing (AIW) and a similar association – WICA. To date, David remains the AIW’s Honorary Secretary, a position he has held for more than a decade.
