A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to our second biennial Australian Zero Homelessness Summit in Fremantle this year! It was an incredible day filled with inspiring conversations, powerful insights and the energy needed to continue the charge to end homelessness in Australia. We were privileged to hear from local, interstate and international experts on Housing First and Permanent Supportive Housing, and the critical role of lived experience and First Nations voices in shaping effective strategies. Together, we have the power to solve homelessness. Let’s keep moving forward! #ZeroHomelessnessSummit #HomelessnessIsSolvable Western Australian Alliance to End Homelessness

What a powerful start to the Australian Zero Homelessness Summit! It was an honour to have Dr Gerrard Shaw begin the day with a heartfelt Welcome to Country, and we were thrilled to have Minister John Carey MLA with us to open the event. We then had the privilege of hearing from Dr Gregory P. Smith with a lived expertise address, and David Pearson with an address on the state of the movement. We finished off the morning with an insightful keynote from Rosanne Haggerty on the role of permanent supportive housing, which followed a dynamic Advance to Zero Lightning Round Panel, with Iain De Jong as the moderator. We are looking forward to the afternoon ahead! #homelessnessissolvable

🌍 Today is the 15th annual World Homeless Day. At the AAEH, we believe that homelessness is solvable. This day reminds us of the importance of coordinated, collective action at all levels to ensure that homelessness is rare, brief and once-off. Next week, we will be hosting the 2024 Australian Zero Homelessness Summit in Fremantle, WA, where people and organisations committed to ending homelessness will come together to share strategies, insights and progress. It's a time to reflect on how far we’ve come and look ahead to the work still to be done. From local communities to national initiatives, the power of collaboration and shared learning is driving real change. When we all work together, we can build a future where no one is left without a safe place to call home. #WorldHomelessDay #HomelessnessIsSolvable

Was so great to be in the nations capital for the last few days to meet with political and public sector leaders and share the work of the amazing Advance To Zero communities across Australia. Thanks to the amazing Tim Richter CEO of the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness for being my #WingMan and sharing the progress and pitfalls from Canada that we need to learn from! Was able to share the importance of ending homlessness being the ambition of the national housing and homelessness plan being developed with new minister Clare O’Neil. Massive thanks to Louise Miller-Frost MP - B App Sc, MA, MPH, MBA, FAICD for setting up a briefing for Labor MP’s. Great to chat with Max Chandler-Mather Greens spokesperson on homlessness and housing about all things supportive housing. #HomelessnessIsSolvable #HousingIsAHumanRight #EveryonesHome

📣 This week is Homelessness Week. We're in the midst of a housing crisis, but we know that ending homelessness is possible. Right now, over 122,000 people in Australia are without a home on any given night. This isn't just a statistic – it's a call to action. Homelessness is preventable and solvable. With safe, affordable housing, adequate incomes and the right support, homelessness can be rare, brief and once-off. This year, the Federal Government is releasing its 10-year National Housing and Homelessness Plan. For it to make a real difference, we need it to be ambitious, delivering the resources and reforms needed to end homelessness for good. We need homelessness action now. Join us in signing this petition by Homelessness Australia and Everybody's Home calling on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to set an ambition to end homelessness in a decade: https://buff.ly/3OvUX8X #HomelessnessIsSolvable #HW2024
