Did you know construction has the highest rate of suicide across the country? These are disturbing and alarming stats. Pride and mascuclinity seem to be the common reason men in construction keep things bottled up. There’s nothing ‘manly’ about not speaking up. If you need help, there’s always a solution. And You don't need to be an expert to reach out to someone whose behaviour has changed- just a good friend and a great listener. Ask your mates if they are ok. R U OK? A conversation you start could change a life.

Interesting article on women in construction . Building Commission NSW conducted a large piece of research in January to investigate the culture of the construction industry and the barriers women face in entering, working, and staying in the industry. https://lnkd.in/gW8pwPpn construction-resources/research-on-women-construction-industry Women’s experience in the industry • 71% of women who left the industry across Tiers 2 and 3 have experienced discrimination based on their gender. • 1 in 2 women in Tiers 2 and 3 report experiencing sexual harassment at work. This is never ok.. If you hear something, say something. Let's provide a safe and respectful working environment for all. Image from https://lnkd.in/gU2KxP9J

Thriving teams = thriving business. The success of any organisation, especially growing ones, heavily relies on the effectiveness of its teams. During our session with Virginia Walker, we covered behavioural patterns. Behavioural patterns encapsulate the predictable and routine ways individuals engage with others and approach various circumstances. Interestingly, most of our team had similar behavioural patterns. Has your organisation looked into behavioural patterns and if so, what were the results?

Project spotlight for your Thursday and it's a different one. This cantilevered scaffold was designed for a storm water main to be built between the two scaffolds and flow into the Canal. It was a delicate build as the bank was heritage stone and all works needed to be carried out carefully. With 5m cantilevered and picking up the working deck over the water, engineers were engaged during design and when changes needed to be made for a successful build. Great team effort on this one. #heritagestone #scaffold #scaffoldsolutions #successfulbuild #safetyfirst

Thinking of a career in scaffolding? We encourage you to look into our industry. There are many industries that require scaffolding such as music and entertainment scaffolding, construction scaffolding and rigging which requires training in scaffolding first. To become a qualified scaffolder, you need to acquire Nationally Accredited Training in Scaffolding Basic, Intermediate or Advanced level. The beginning stages of this profession are the most important as these pave the foundation, guidelines, and best practices in the industry. You will also need a high risk work permit, and a construction induction card. If you need more information, visit https://lnkd.in/grcMuXPn #constructionnsw #constructioncareers

We are big on company culture and recently we welcomed some new members to our growing team. Our team workshop with Virginia Walker was a huge success. We do these workshops as it fosters better collaboration and improves communication and trust. It also allows us to collectively goal set so that everyone is on the same page and working towards the same objectives, which improves overall productivity and effectiveness. #companyculture #discprofiling #teambuilding #teamworkshop

Happy Friday team ! We are showcasing some recent Falsework scaffolding. Falsework refers to temporary structures used in construction to support buildings, bridges, or other infrastructure during building, repair, or maintenance work. It's called "false" because it's not a permanent part of the structure. Falsework scaffolding can include: 1. Temporary beams and supports 2. Shoring systems 3. Formwork for concrete 4. Access scaffolding It's used to: 1. Support heavy loads 2. Allow workers to access high areas 3. Provide a safe working platform 4. Enable construction of complex shapes
