AVADA Traffic employee Paige helps to save a life. What a remarkable story of bravery and quick thinking, which exemplifies the very best of our AVADA Traffic team, by our Traffic Controller Paige working on a client site at the Gold Coast in late June. Paige is based in the Gold Coast depot, and she demonstrated incredible heroism when she encountered a critical situation whilst on the job in Southport. A member of the public was driving their car through the work site area however they were having a seizure and were unable to control their car - they crashed into a sign on a roundabout. As the car was still moving Paige chased the car down, opened the door and stopped the out-of-control car. Paige’s heroism didn’t end there! She stayed by the driver’s side, providing comfort and reassurance until the ambulance arrived, and ensuring that the driver was cared for throughout the ordeal. Paige was presented with an Outstanding Safety Award by her manager and team on site.   Dan Crowley, Managing Director and CEO of AVADA Group Limited stated, “I want to congratulate Paige on her very worthy award, and importantly thank her for her courageous act of bravery to assist a member of the public in their time of need and fulfilling her important role of protecting her co-workers, our Energex client, and the public."   Paige’s quick thinking and courage are truly commendable, we are incredibly proud to have her as part of our AVADA Traffic team and she is a shining example of the AVADA Group Limited core values of being Skillful, Reliable, Helpful and Professional. Congratulations to AVADA Group’s Board member Neil Scales OBE, who has been honored as the 12th recipient of the Austroads Medal in its more than 30-year history. Neil has worked with Austroads over the past 10 years as Chair, Deputy Chair, long-standing Board member and Australia’s First Delegate to PIARC (World Road Association). The medal is awarded to people who have made an exceptionally meritorious contribution to the achievement of Austroads’ objectives over a sustained period.   CEO and Managing Director stated ‘AVADA is honored to have the caliber of Neil as a member of our board. It is great recognition by Austroads as to Neils contribution to the Transport and Traffic industry. As a leading provider of the traffic management services across Australia and New Zealand, AVADA welcome Neil’s insight and strategic thinking as a board member'.
