Following a stellar season with Lions FC in the National Premier League Andy Pengelly's football season has gone from strength to strength, recently being chosen in Queensland's Open Mens team. Last saturday night Andy was simply outstanding against Victoria with Queensland winning 2 - nil with Andy slotting 2 Goals in a Man of the Match performance ! Balanz Banking Solutions are proud to support Brisbane Boys College’s Annual Basketball Awards evening with raffle prizes ensuring another enjoyable evening as the GPS season for another year comes to a close. Congratulations to the BBC First V on recently winning the prestigious CBSQ Division 1 Open Championship last weekend as the Premier Queensland Schoolboy Basketball team. Last Thursday, we celebrated a monumental milestone – Balanz’s 10th anniversary – with over 240 clients, financiers, consultants, business partners, friends, and family members. The evening began with a warm welcome from our director, Peter Stafford, followed by our founder, George Sha, who shared his inspiring startup story and entrepreneurial journey. Ten years ago, Balanz began with a leap of faith and a clear vision. Through determination and the unwavering support of our clients, we’ve grown into the 23rd largest brokerage firm in Australia, with a team of 22 serving over 700 relationship groups. This incredible success is a testament to the strength of the relationships we’ve built along the way. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our families—our parents, spouses, and children. At Balanz Banking Solutions, with two directors (Angus Chrisp & Stephen Corbett) based in our Townsville office, we live and breathe the local community. In 2024, we wanted to give back to the community that has always supported us, so we partnered with the North Ward Rugby Club (Sand Crabs). This club has an incredible legacy of fostering sportsmanship and personal growth, currently boasting 200 members across Men’s, Women’s, and Juniors divisions. From 3 men’s grades (1st, reserve, and 3rd grade) to an A-grade women’s team, plus 12 junior divisions (from under 8 to under 17), they are a beacon of community spirit. We're also thrilled to celebrate the success of the club's juniors this season, with Grand Final wins in the Under 12 (mixed), Under 13 boys, Under 15 boys, and Under 17 boys divisions! What an outstanding achievement! Over the past weekend, the Balanz team embarked on an unforgettable journey at Airlie Beach for Balanz Adventure 2024. On Day 1, we kayaked 6km from Shute Harbour to Sandy Bay at South Molle Island, followed by a challenging 10km hike across the island. Day 2 saw us paddling 16km around the stunning South Molle Island, accompanied by headwinds along the journey. On Day 3, we packed up our tents, cleaned up, and loaded our kayaks onto the transport boat back to Airlie Beach. A huge thank you to everyone for their participation! This adventure was challenging yet incredibly meaningful for team building and was filled with fun and camaraderie. We look forward to our next adventure in 2025!
