Congratulations to 17 year old Max Durrington, a finalist in the 2024 Queensland Sport Awards presented by QSport. Max recently signed a 7 figure contract with the Athletics, one of thirty US Major League Baseball clubs. He follows in the footsteps of his dad Trent Durrington, one of Australia's 38 Major League Baseballers. The Channel 9 Queensland Junior Athlete of the Year award will be hotly contested, with eight sports - baseball, tennis, AFL, swimming, hockey, basketball, skate and athletics, being represented by ten of Queensland's outstanding athletes. The winners will be announced at a black tie event on Thursday 21st November.
