So, you’re looking for concreters to complete mine site projects? When you’re looking for concreters to complete works for you on a mine site, you can’t just call any old concreters. Sure, you need concreters who are technically competent – preferably technically great – but you need concreters who are…concreters. QBCC qualified and licensed is important – but as a mining professional – technical qualifications are never your first focus. Your first focus will all be Safety-focused. Can the concreters you’re considering demonstrate proven experience working under Safety Health Management Systems (SHM Systems)? Can your concreter supply a full team of staff S11 & Coal Board medical compliant? Are all vehicles and equipment BMA or Glencore approved & compliant? Do the concreters have team members who have additional accreditations, such as Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, Machine Operators tickets? What is the concrete company’s Risk Profile? Have any of the concreters had recent history of incidents on site? Some Concreters, (as well as steel fixers, and other starter trades) are famous (infamous?) for their extra-vocational activities. When you’re selecting a concreting contractor, you need to be sure you’re not inviting this negative, extra-vocational activity on to any of your sites. BEAR Screw Piling, part of BEAR Group offer a full range of concreting services, as well as screw piling, steel fixing, form setting and more. BEAR Group is committed to offering Concreting Services that meet all your Safety Health Management Systems requirements, all your OH&S/WHS requirements. Concreters who will attend pre-start meetings, who will Think Safe or Take 5, concreters who will turn up equipped with the required PPE for each project. If you’re looking for a contractor to take on mine site concreting projects, call or message BEAR Group. Let us know what your requirements are – regarding Safety, regarding quality, regarding compliance. In short, let us know what you expect. Then, and only then, let’s talk about the scope or the schedule of works. At that stage we can quote from plans, quote from site visits, quote from any documentation. You’re not going to call just any old concreter – there’s too much at stake. Call BEAR Group on 0482 088 250 or contact us through LinkedIn. Cheers.

Looking For An Approved Alternative to Concrete-Filled Bored Piers? Screw Piling Is a Better Way. Five (5) Reasons To Change To Bear Screw Piles. (And a Bonus 6th reason to change, in Mining.) 1: RAPID, EASY INSTALLATION. 2: NO SPOIL TO REMOVE FROM SITE 3: IF IT RAINS, NO PUMPING OUT 4: SAVE ON CONCRETE & CONCRETE PUMPS. 5: SAVE DAYS ON SITE. Plus Bonus 6th Reason…(for the Mining sector) 6: SCREW PILES MAKE SITE REMEDIATION EASY – WE SIMPLY UNINSTALL THE SCREW PILES AND TAKE THEM AWAY. If you have bored pier foundations shown on your plans, but you’d prefer a faster, economical, certified alternative, read on. 1: RAPID, EASY INSTALLATION. An installed screw pile is a competed screw pile. No concrete deliveries, no concreters, no concrete pumps, no pile cages, no waiting for the concrete to cure. Our small, highly trained crew, proven SOPs & WH&S procedures – means less risk for the Risk Managers (& isn’t that everyone on site?) Rapid, easy installation. 2: NO SPOIL TO REMOVE FROM SITE. Installing screw piles does not require us to dig out piers – screw piles are installed directly into the ground. No open holes – so less hazards. No spoil to remove from site, unlike old school piers. Means less heavy vehicle movements and less possibilities of vehicle/pedestrian interactions. 3: IF IT RAINS, NO PUMPING OUT Ever come back to site to find every bored pier full of water? It sucks! With old school piers, if it rains & open holes fill, invariably your concrete quantities increase, too. Often, they increase significantly. Rain does not impact screw piling like it does old school open hole piers. 4: SAVE ON CONCRETE & ON PUMPS. Screw piling generally does not require any concrete deliveries, and so doesn’t require concrete pumps. Any mining professional involved in ordering or managing concrete deliveries or concrete pumps on site knows… These two things can cruel a carefully planned schedule like few other factors can. Installed screw piles are finished screw piles… 5: SAVE DAYS ON SITE. Screw piles can do something very few other trades can do. We can add back days into your construction schedule. Because we cut out so many steps & stages needed in concrete bored piers, we save you time. Literally. 6: SITE REMEDIATION MADE EASY We simply uninstall the screw piles and take them away. Mining professionals often have to consider “End Of Life” for various projects. You’re planning for site remediation before you’ve even commenced on site. Screw piles have an advantage that concrete piers cannot compete with. When it’s time for remediation we can simply return to site and uninstall the screw piles. No open holes left to fill, No bulk concrete to dig out or dump. Of course, there are standard SOPs and certified systems to follow. But we can simplify your site remediation. So… If you have any new projects, any renovation projects OR any Make Safe/Safe Haven projects that may suit Screw Piles, Contact BEAR through Linkedin or call 0482 088 250

As Qld mining professionals based on site know, there are buildings, shipping containers, and other assets that do not meet current tie-down requirements.   And these cannot be classed as Safe Havens.   If you are a Mining professional tasked with finding answers to this challenge, BEAR believe we have a proven, certified solution for you.   Untold numbers of accommodation buildings, etc. throughout Qld mines are installed Old School - just sitting on dry-stacked blocks – these assets are prime candidates for needing to be made safe.   Previously, many of these buildings were secured with ‘duck-bill’ ground anchors - no longer a preferred option for securing assets.   Over time, duck-bills can lose their effectiveness, at times to the point of failure.   These duck-bills can work loose.   Their conical shape means they are easy to install, but with any seasonal ground movement – dry seasons, wet seasons they can become loose in the ground..   This means they become easily moved or removed and then provide no tie-down strength, at all.   With black soil predominant in many of Qld’s coal fields, ground movement is common – so you need a solution that negates this surface ground movement.   BEAR’s screw piles are designed to be installed to any depth required.    If you had, say 1,200mm of black soil, over deeper subsoil of solid ground, screw piles are installed through the black soil and anchor firmly in the stronger ground below.   This system allows the surface level black soil to move, expand, contract while the screw piles are through the black soil and into firm holding below.   Testing shows this alternative ground anchor system can offer greater than 50 year expected life span.   For the mining professionals, a specific key advantage is the screw pile system is fully engineered and certified – allowing Safe Haven status to be achieved.   This system is utilized on existing assets and on newly installed assets.   Virtually no excavation required. No concrete or concrete pumps required. No open holes on site. Simplicity of system design means less people required on site.   Less people means reduced risk for the mining professionals responsible for managing risk (And isn’t that everyone?).   Mining engineers, project managers, risk managers, compliance specialists, etc. are welcome to request a copy of our free Performance Guide.   The Performance Guide provides all the technical details required by engineers (etc.) when assessing the suitability of our screw piles for their projects.   Reach out to BEAR Screw Piling if you’d like to know more about our ground anchor/tied own system, or anything screw piling related.
