Something exciting is coming .... Over the last few months, the Metropolitan Palliative Care Consultancy Service (MPaCCS) team have been working hard, alongside Perth Video Productions, to create a suite of short educational videos. We've had so much fun working together on this project and cannot wait to show you the final product 📹✨

On Friday Bethesda celebrated its annual Celebration Day! Celebration Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the hospitals achievements over the last year and acknowledge the length of service milestones of many of our staff members. This year we had a combined 570 years of service, including our dear Robyn Strong, who has been with us for 45 years! The Right Honourable Lord Mayor, Basil Zempilas, joined us as our guest and thanked staff for the important role they play in the community. Formalities turned to fun, with Bethesda staff battling it out in Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Congratulations to Fiona Moody (Area Coordinator, Palliative Care) on being the worthy recipient of the prestigious Matron Beryl Hill Exemplary Professional Practice Award. The morning was rounded out with a hospital-wide buffet lunch. Always the highlight of the year - we really do have the best chefs and catering team ❤️

We are celebrating National NAIDOC all week long at Bethesda. This week we have a treasure hunt going for staff. The prize each day? A Noongar story that has been passed down through Elders over time and adapted by one of our very own, Sarah Day, who is mother to a wonderful little Emerging Leader! Our staff have loved learning more about Noongar culture, traditions, stories and language. Today we held a morning tea in the foyer, catered by Aboriginal founded and owned business Gather Foods. Staff spun the wheel to increase their Noongar vocabulary and learn the meanings behind certain phrases! #NAIDOCWeek

The highlight of Palliative Care Week is always the Palliative Care WA Breakfast. Bethesda is a proud sponsor of the breakfast, which provides an opportunity for the palliative care sector to come together to reflect on the past year and share our vision for the future. Our MPaCCS and inpatient palliative care team had a great morning and loved catching up with colleagues who are also working in this very important area. #PalliativeCareWeek
