  • Earlier this month, these nine cheerful bidding professionals completed our first APMP Foundation workshop for 2025 – joining trainer Nigel Dennis online from across NSW, Victoria, Queensland, and even further abroad in Fiji and The Philippines! A huge congratulations to the eight attendees who’ve since sat and passed their exam, officially becoming APMP Foundation certified. And best of luck to the lucky last who has opted to sit their exam later on – we know you’ll ace it! APMP certifications are a great way to obtain formal recognition of your tendering knowledge. If you’re thinking of earning an APMP credential, preparing with one of our expert-led training workshops is a sure-fire way to maximise your chance of passing. Upcoming dates for APMP Foundation and APMP Practitioner workshops can be found on our Bid Academy training calendar: https://hubs.la/Q03cRQhN0

Eager to support those local businesses in securing more contracts, David and Shavantha spoke about the importance of well-crafted tenders and financial readiness in winning work. A big thanks to the local businesses of Wangaratta for participating and to the organisers at ICN Victoria.

15 APMP members caught up in Melbourne last week for some great conversations over a drink and nibbles 🍻 🍷 Everyone split into five teams and were given a creative sci-fi proposal challenge. They had seven minutes to come up with a creative solution to realign a planet which had spun off it's axis - and then pitched their ideas covering key bidding topics like people, past experience, methodology, risk, and value adds 🚀 Well done to Jack Lio CF APMP, Kelly Tran and Jake Porter for their winning pitch, which highlighted their multiversal experience, a plan to evacuate the planet, and celebrity endorsements. Thanks Declan Veale, CF APMP for organising the first APMP Melbourne Networking event of the year - there will be three more throughout the year at the Royal Melbourne Hotel. Watch out for upcoming networking events in your local city in the near future!

Evaluators CAN judge a bid by its cover, as Principal Consultant Mark Riley CPP APMP tells us in this style tip, featured in a recent Bid Talk newsletter. "Something I learned from one of the best in the business, proposal professional and author of the bidding bible ‘Persuasive Business Proposals’ Tom Sant, is that you don’t write a book and simply title it ‘Book’. Likewise, the cover page of your submission shouldn't be titled ‘Proposal’ or ‘Tender Response’. Give it a punchy headline that’s customer focused and reflects an objective your client is looking to achieve, or a promise you’re making to them. And if you want to provide further context, include a subheading. Here are some examples: 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬, 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝘊𝘰-𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘧𝘧 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬: 𝘈 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 25% 𝐎𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝘔𝘢𝘹𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 Since reading this advice from Tom Sant years ago, it’s always stayed with me and remains one of my favourite ways to add impact right from the get-go." 💡 For more handy tips on tendering tech and bid writing style, subscribe to Bid Talk here: https://hubs.la/Q034r5r80
