What do public relations and tendering have in common? More than you think. And their shared traits certainly make a case for both to be treated as perennial priorities in your business. In our latest blog, BidWrite's Anne-Marie Tripp, CF APMP and Profile Media's Sue Papadoulis provide an insightful perspective and helpful advice that applies equally well to public relations and tendering. More importantly, they look at how implementing this advice can help you position your organisation favourably and prepare for targeted tendering success. Read more here: https://hubs.la/Q02VB7WF0

BidWrite reposted this
Yesterday, we kicked off the “How to Craft Irresistible Tenders and Prove Financial Strength” series in Hobart with BidWrite and Industry Capability Network, hosted by Business Tasmania. Today, we’re in Launceston. 📍 Hobart ✅ 📍 Launceston – Today 📍 Devonport – Tomorrow We’re focused on helping SMEs understand their financials better. This isn’t just for their benefit—it’s for enterprises and government organisations, too. When suppliers know their strengths and weaknesses, it makes them more reliable and easier to work with. It leads to more accurate pricing, stronger partnerships, and a better fit for long-term goals. Everyone benefits when financials are clear and transparent.

A huge thanks to Industry Capability Network - WA for having us at their Setting Up For Success Workshop last week! David Lunn always enjoys presenting to such an engaged audience, especially alongside other insightful industry experts.
The packed Industry Capability Network - WA workshop focussing on defence shared invaluable insights from Austal's Robert McCullagh, ODIS’ Greg Blycha GAICD, FAIM and BidWrite's David Lunn. The exciting announcement today of the establishment of a consolidated Defence Precinct at Henderson is the critical next step in delivering continuous naval shipbuilding in Western Australia. This builds on the Albanese Government’s announcement last year of a strategic partnership between Defence and Austal Limited at Henderson. Coupled with the $8 billion the Albanese Government has already committed to expand HMAS Stirling, these investments and capability programs in Western Australia will be worth tens of billions of dollars over the next two decades. This will mean tremendous opportunities for the WA economy. One of the key takeaway is the focus on Detailed Sovereign Defence Industrial Priorities (Detailed SDIPs) which provide a more granular breakdown of capabilities, technologies and capacities required to support naval shipbuilding projects, ensuring alignment with Defence's strategic objectives and operational requirements. Well done to Andie Pfaff and Hengameh Kiani for delivering yet another topical workshop.

We’re really looking forward to delivering this training in Tasmania with Shavantha Mallawa, CEO of CreditSource Pty Ltd – one of our strategic partners. We’ve always held the view that understanding both sides of the buying/selling process makes for better bidding. Having a clear understanding of how procurement teams operate ought to be ‘compulsory reading’ for any organisations looking to win contracts via the tendering process. Thanks also to another strategic partner Industry Capability Network who share this view and have been such a driving force in bringing this training to life. Successful tendering is such a multi-faceted activity, and it’s great to be at the stage where we can call upon the specialised expertise of our partner network to help us draw the bigger picture of what it really takes to win more often and more easily.
Later this month I’m off to Tasmania as CreditSource Pty Ltd joins Industry Capability Network and BidWrite for our “How to Craft Irresistible Tenders and Prove Financial Strength” series for Tasmanian SMEs, supported by Business Tasmania. 📍 Hobart on Tuesday, 22 October 📍 Launceston on Wednesday, 23 October 📍 Devonport on Thursday, 24 October. At first blush it might seem counterintuitive that we teach businesses how to write compelling tenders, but far from it. Our mission has never been to "catch supplier’s out". Our mission is about promoting robust, financially stable businesses. And a big key to this is understanding your financials, including your strengths and weaknesses. By helping smaller businesses understand how they’re being “marked” by a procurement team, they can better align their tenders with what you’re looking for. This not only makes life easier for procurement teams. It ultimately expands the pool of suppliers you have to choose from, promoting a greater sense of competition and capabilities, which is almost always a good thing for your projects. P.S. It's a whirlwind itinerary but a great opportunity to catch up in person with some of our clients. If you'd like to arrange a coffee while I'm in town, please send me a DM.
