Wishing a happy anniversary to our Singleton store! Congratulations on 40 years of serving the local community. Past and present team members celebrated this milestone with a special luncheon, including Deb Andrews, a familiar face who has been with the store since its doors first opened in 1984. The nostalgic event gave team members the opportunity to recount cherished memories together, recognising the store's enduring commitment to its customers and the Singleton community. The anniversary underscores BIG W Singleton's role as more than just a retail store; it's a community hub where generations of families have shopped, celebrated milestones and created lasting memories. #BIGWAustralia #OurPeople #StoreAnniversary

Introducing Adam Ladanay, a dedicated Store Manager at BIG W with an inspiring 31-year career journey. Adam began his adventure at BIG W Macquarie shortly after finishing school in 1993, starting in the back dock. From receiving stock and pushing shopping trolleys, he quickly moved up to the shop floor as a sales assistant and within five years achieved the position of Department Manager. His journey took an exciting turn with the flagship store opening at Warringah Mall in Sydney, where Adam transitioned to Nightfill Manager within two years. Promotions continued, leading to roles such as Softgoods Sales Manager at Wetherill Park and Assistant Store Manager at Fountain Gate in Victoria. Adam embraced new challenges, overseeing multiple store openings, including BIG W Morwell and BIG W Echuca, while also completing relief roles as an Area Manager and Health and Safety relief. Reflecting on his time at BIG W, Adam shared, “Working with so many great mentors has shaped my career. The team is what makes this business thrive—without them, we are nothing.” The advice Adam offers to aspiring retail professionals emphasises the importance of embracing discomfort and investing in team growth. “Don’t be scared to make mistakes. Learn from them to help yourself and our business grow,” he advises. Looking ahead, Adam is passionate about continuing to mentor emerging leaders and teams, eager to make a meaningful impact within BIG W. #BIGWAustralia #OurPeople

BIG W is honoured to have been gifted an incredible artwork by Melody Finlay, Availability Leader at our Mount Hutton store. Mel, a proud Wiradjuri woman who lives and works on Awabakal land, created “This Is Us” to recognise the journey of our First Nations team members and the support of allies across the business. The artwork is proudly displayed in our Support Office in Norwest, accompanied by a plaque that shares the story behind this beautiful piece.  #diversity #inclusion #FirstNations #BIGW

Our Gladstone store team members recently rolled up their sleeves to donate blood through Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, helping to raise awareness around the importance and impact of plasma donation. Availability Leader Sarsha Kendrick, alongside team members Nicole Wroe, Angela Layt, Shandel Hearn and Lisa Spence were inspired by the incredible journey of Simmo Braun, a father who is touring Australia on The Bloody Good Tour, visiting every Life Blood Donor centre in Australia and donating plasma (a blood component) himself every two weeks. When Simmo made his stop in Gladstone, the team was pleased to join him in making a life changing donation. #BigWCommunity #BloodDonation #PlasmaDonation #SavingLives

BIG W was recently honoured to receive a Children's Hospital Foundation Hall of Fame Award at an event to celebrate 10 years of care for Queensland kids. Since 2003, we have raised more than $5.5 million for the Children's Hospital Foundation (CHF) – helping to transform countless little lives at Queensland Children's Hospital. In that time, funds raised through our stores have been directed towards: 💙 Transforming the oncology waiting room with lounge areas, a digital display wall, a play area, and local artwork to create a comforting space for families 💙 Refreshing the wig library to help young cancer patients cope with hair loss during treatment with dignity and confidence 💙 Funding a part-time oncology psychologist role for two years to address the increased mental health needs of young oncology patients and their families 💙 Funding the MINDRAY TE5 ultrasound machine to make cannula insertion less painful and reduce anxiety for young patients. For the last two decades, BIG W has proudly supported CHF with direct donations and appeals in our stores. We are committed to this ongoing partnership and thank our customers and team for the fundraising efforts over the years to improve the lives of sick children and young people. Thank you to Courtney Palmer Victoria Shipp Michael Stoikov Rebecca Burton and our decicated store team members for driving this partnership.

We've been busy working on something BIG! We are excited to launch our new clothing basics range in store and online following an extensive 18 month journey of customer, industry and quality research. Rather than shying away from our customer frustrations when it came to fit, we chose to face feedback head on and work collaboratively to create 82 new and improved designs across our men's and women's ranges. Celebrating the launch of our new range we've partnered with Mamamia to address some of our customers clothing pain points through social and podcast content launching this week. New creative with M&C Saatchi Group AUNZ also features billboards popping up across the country depicting poorly fitting clothes, as we encourage customers to try out one of the new products in a humorous way. At BIG W we believe that finding your perfect fit or style doesn't have to be difficult and we're excited to invite our customers to shop their family's basics all year round. #bigwaustralia #bigwclothing
