Congratulations to Neil Harvey for winning the SA Flexible Pavement Field Worker Award 2024 at the SA National Australian Flexible Pavement Association (AfPA) Industry Awards. The award category was based on experience within the Industry, mechanical expertise, mentorship, major project involvement, client recognition and commitment to safety. Neil has over 25 years of experience as a profiler operator, including a background in mechanics, and has worked for Bitu-mill (A BildGroup Company) for the past 7 years. He travels to remote sites to repair plant and equipment, sharing his deep industry knowledge along the way. With his calm and steady approach, he’s become a valued mentor and trainer to others. Congratulation to all nominees and thank you, Neil for all your hard work and dedication, an award so well deserved! #PeoplePartnershipsProgressPotential #CivilInfrastructure

BildGroup’s values of People, Partnerships, Progress and Potential came into play when our team out on the Pakenham Roads Upgrade came together with our client Major Road Projects Victoria and held an educational planting day for Pakenham Springs Primary School students, giving new life to an underutilised section of the school. BildGroup and MRPV with 30 Grade 5 students planted over 300 native plants, creating a garden, complete with an insect hotel, that will be a lasting legacy serving current and future students and contributing to Pakenham’s wildlife corridors. We were honoured that traditional land custodian and Bunurong elder Mark Brown played the Yidaki, as well as provided a Welcome to Country. A good old sausage sizzle was on offer for students after a hard day’s work, which was kindly cooked by the Pakenham Rotary Club. Scroll through the pics to see before and afters, as well as Bunurong elder Mark Brown play the Yidaki. #WildLifeCorridors #CardiniaShireCouncil #NativeGardens

October is Australia’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and BildGroup is taking this opportunity to show our support. We’ve branded one of our multi-rollers pink, and our team is wearing pink ribbons to stand with those impacted by this disease. Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, and sadly, 9 lives are lost every day. Let’s continue to raise awareness, support those affected, and encourage early detection. #BreastCancerAwareness #PinkRibbon #CivilInfrastructure

Need an extra shot of coffee with your concrete? ☕ We’re proud to have partnered with RMIT University, to have made Coffee Concrete a commercially viable option for our client Major Road Projects Victoria and asset owner Cardinia Shire Council on the Pakenham Roads Upgrade. For a brand-new footpath, we poured 30m3 of RMIT’s innovative coffee concrete and by doing so we’re estimating that we saved close to 140,000 coffees from landfill and saved three tonnes of sand, a precious natural resource. Here at BildGroup we’re committed to reducing our environmental impacts and investing in sustainable innovations. #PeoplePartnershipsProgress #SustainableInnovations #Concrete

October is National Safe Work Month! At BildGroup, safety is at the heart of everything we do. This month, as we celebrate National Safe Work Month, we're reminded that "Safety is Everyone’s Business." It’s not just a slogan; it’s a commitment to ensuring every team member goes home safe and healthy every day. Throughout October, our HSEQ team will share valuable tips and information with staff, supporting safer working practices. Whether it's simple reminders or in-depth advice, we're here to help each other stay safe. Remember, safety isn’t just about policies – it’s about each of us looking out for one another and challenging unsafe practices. Together, let’s make safety our priority. Because when we work together, we can create a workplace where everyone feels safe, valued, and respected. #NationalSafeWorkMonth #SafetyFirst #People

We’re marking International Coffee Day in a special way! BildGroup is proud to have partnered with RMIT University, to make coffee concrete a commercial reality. With the support of our client Major Road Projects Victoria and asset owner Cardinia Shire Council, we’re contributing to the circular economy by preventing an estimated 140,000 coffees from going to landfill, for our recent footpath pour out on the Pakenham Roads Upgrade. Great job by everyone involved ☕
Turning yesterday’s latte into the path towards tomorrow. MRPV and construction partner BildGroup have collaborated with RMIT University to use coffee biochar concrete for the first time on Victoria's Big Build on the Pakenham Roads Upgrade. Let’s hear from RMIT’s lead researcher Dr Rajeev Roychand about what it takes to turn coffee into concrete and how this product can help the construction industry take a huge step forward.
