In 2025, a new story unfolds for Bird in Hand as we expand our hospitality offering into the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. The expansion will introduce a new Tasting Room, Restaurant and exclusive food & wine experiences to the famed Hobart location. We are eminently excited for this next chapter. Our decision to pursue this expansion strengthens our growth strategy in Tasmania; complimenting our recent acquisition of a vineyard in West Tamar Valley, and the ongoing establishment of vineyards at our Seymour property, located on the East Coast of the island state.

In honour of the club’s 150th anniversary, they have released a Special Edition case of the Bird in Hand 2016 Nest Egg Cabernet Sauvignon. It is with great excitement that our onsite restaurant, LVN, has been named a finalist in the ‘Best New Restaurant’ category for this year’s Australian Gourmet Traveller Annual Restaurant Awards. ‘Jacob Davey seems to have found his happy place in his executive chef role at Bird in Hand winery’s new onsite restaurant. Davey can often be spotted perusing the immaculately tended Adelaide Hills grounds and LVN’s extensive kitchen garden. Emphasis is on native Australian ingredients sourced from Peramangk and Kaurna land and waters, and the arrival of around 10 intricate dishes is at a gentle and rhythmic pace, much like the natural light shifting across statement art and subtle earthy décor.
