This #WorldWaterMonitoringDay, we're celebrating our industry-leading water monitoring program, which takes a comprehensive approach to groundwater and vegetation. Our groundwater monitoring uses advanced science and cutting-edge technology to observe and enhance the understanding to protect groundwater and spring ecosystems near the Carmichael mine. In addition to our ongoing research, independent experts conduct multispectral and thermal imaging of the Doongmabulla Springs Complex (DSC). The imagery helps identify spring vent locations, measure spring area and depth, track temperature changes, and improve the accuracy of vegetation mapping. This allows us to monitor connections between wetness and vegetation composition, species abundance, distribution and overall health, and detect temperature variations from natural groundwater discharge.

The Carmichael mine is located about 160km northwest of Clermont, offering our workforce the flexibility to either drive in and out from the Isaac region or fly in from one of our regional hubs. In recent months, we’ve made some great upgrades to our Labona Airport to make flying even smoother. We’ve installed runway lights and precision approach path indicators, allowing planes to land at night, and added a local weather station to provide pilots with accurate weather and wind data. These improvements will make travel easier and more efficient for everyone!

We’re giddying up for an exciting weekend at the Twin Hills Races, Rodeo & Campdraft! We love any chance to support our neighhhhbours, and they sure know how to have a fair dinkum good time 🏇 This year, all eyes will be on the Bravus Arena for the rodeo and campdraft, with the fun continuing the next day as we cheer on the horses in the Bravus/APIAM Clermont Vet Surgery Handicap. It’s always a must-do event for the Bravus crew, and we can’t wait to be part of it again!

Ask R U OK? Any Day because life happens every day.  For many of our community, Carmichael mine is their home away from home. So, a big part of being a member of this community is being there for one another, and looking after each other’s mental health while we’re at work and away from our usual support networks. RUOK? Over the weekend students from all over the country participated in the The AusIMM Southern Queensland Student Chapter National Mining Games 2024 in Brisbane. Over two full days of competition, students participated in events like track and set, muck and cart, swede saw, airleg drilling, hand-steel, blast board, survey, and gold panning. We’re so proud to be able get behind the next generation of mining professionals, and we’re excited to see all the talent coming through the sector in the future (especially after what we saw at the Bravus sponsored Muck and Cart event!).

It was great to support Coal Australia’s town hall in Townsville last night. We've always been proud to create local coal jobs, opportunities for local business and suppliers, and to give back to coal communities across regional Queensland through our operations at the Carmichael mine.

🌍 Our cutting-edge research collaboration between Bravus Mining and Resources and Queensland scientists has been published in the international journal Animal Biotelemetry! Together with E2M Consulting's expert ecologists, we've developed an innovative AI-supported radio tracking model to study the Black-throated Finch. This innovative project is not just about protecting this species but also offers a new tool for global researchers to uncover the secrets of other rare birds. With 27 radio towers covering 2,700 hectares, our research has provided new insights into the finch's habitat and daily movements, helping conservationists around the world. Proud to be part of such a significant step forward in environmental science! 🐦🔍
