Today is World Mental Health Day. Each year on October 10 we all have the chance to put mental health in the spotlight to raise awareness and break down stigma. This year we have focussed on the meaningful connections in our lives, and why they are so important for good mental health. Mental health is an issue that touches each and every one of us in different ways, and World Mental Health Day reminds us that we should be connecting with loved ones, connecting with our community and colleagues, connecting with services and supports if needed - and most importantly - connecting back with ourselves for good mental health. #WMHD24 #MeaningfulConnectionsMatter

Work from home benefits could be coming to an end, with new data showing 82% of Australian CEOs expect staff at the office full-time in the next three years — up from 66% last year. The KPMG chief executive survey found 78% would reward office-based staff with pay rises and promotions. KPMG Australia CEO Andrew J Yates told The Sydney Morning Herald he did not see an end to flexible workplaces. He explained the findings could just reflect the particular subset of CEOs surveyed, or represent a move towards a permissive work-from-home culture. "I think it does depend on the business," he said. "We’ve seen a number of CEOs come out more recently and mandate a return to the office, and that probably suits their business." The survey comes as Amazon and Tabcorp ordered their workers back to the office five days a week. Do you think full-time in the office will become the norm again? R U OK? Day reminds us of the importance of checking in on the people around us. It's a simple yet powerful act to ask someone how they're really going, and it could make all the difference. However, it's essential to remember that we should stay connected and supportive throughout the year, not just today. If you're not sure how to start a conversation with a friend, colleague, or family member who may be struggling, visit www.ruok.org.au for resources that guide you through having meaningful and supportive conversations. And if you're struggling yourself, please don’t stay silent. It’s important to talk to your friends, family, or colleagues. You are not alone. For additional support, you can access the following services: - If you’re a WorkPac employee, you can reach out to our EAP Provider, Gryphon Psychology, for confidential mental health services. - You can also contact Beyond Blue for mental health support at www.beyondblue.org.au.
