A valued client of ours needed to understand where certain features where on this motorcycle engine in relation to the frame. The data needed to be captured at our clients workshop and then presented in a CAD format so they could complete their project with accuracy and efficiency.

When you need more accuracy than structured light scanning 😁 Our Romer Arm with integrated scanner is able to achieve a probing volumetric accuracy of +/- 0.038mm and laser scanning accuracy of 0.063mm. And there we go, The parts for our little Fun Friday side project have been painted and test fitted, ready to see some action! We developed a replacement strut top mount with altered and combined attachment positions that eliminates 2 additional brackets, along with a revised airbox cover that corrected some poor fitment geometry that left trim marks all over the previous attempt, while being made out of 1.2mm 316, it will need a quick polish to bring it up to it final maintenance free finish. It all seems simple in the end, but helps to solve bigger issues, while cleaning up the fitment and aesthetics to a more professional standard. Now onto the next adventure! Every once in a while we get to do some fun re-design work for those weekend toys. The owner wanted to redesign this strut top mount to incorporate all the features of nearby components into one singular piece. This includes 2 catch can mount straps and torque damper mount position to clean up the aesthetics along with a few functional corrections. The torque damper mount was rotated around 5 degrees for added clearance and serviceability, while the catch can was moved forward slightly with a slight pitch correction. All dropped into a nice quick colour scan for a sense or realism.
