Brookfield’s Asia Pacific Real Estate team recently gathered in #Singapore for its inaugural training program for Investment Analysts and Associates, which brought together team members at earlier stages of their career for a comprehensive learning experience. The program involved self-paced courses, virtual workshops and in-person sessions led by the Asia Pacific Real Estate leadership team, focused on enhancing practical skills and gaining valuable insights to support their #career growth and development.

Head of Renewable Power and Transition for Australia and New Zealand and Head of Japan for Brookfield Luke Edwards joined a panel at The Australian Financial Review Business Summit yesterday to discuss the impact of a Trump presidency on Australia’s 2030 climate goals and investment. The new administration is expected to drive significant growth in the domestic U.S. market in #manufacturing, #datacenter development and industry, which will require significant incremental power demand and should present large-scale investment opportunities in the US and potentially Australia. 

Infrastructure debt stands to benefit from the continued appetite for #privatecredit, with attributes of long-term, inflation-protected, stable cash flows. It provides investors with the opportunity to participate in the #digitalisation, #decarbonisation and #deglobalisation megatrends, which will drive an infrastructure supercycle requiring US$200 trillion in investment during the next 30 years. Senior Vice President, Debt Investments Sean Robertson says as the largest private infrastructure credit fund globally, the scale of Brookfield’s #infrastructuredebt strategy is a key differentiator. 

Elyse Propoggia is a Senior Auditor in our Internal Audit team in #Australia, where she works on compliance and operational reviews, as well as data analytics and due diligence. In her role she works with Brookfield’s portfolio companies, our different business groups and teams across Asia Pacific and the globe, which she says creates synergies: “You’re able to pick up key takeaways and lessons about what works and what doesn’t and adopt something similar for your team.”    Elyse also chairs the #bNext committee in Australia, our employee engagement group that brings together colleagues in the early and middle stages of their careers. “bNext is a part of my #career that I am very proud of, particularly working with the committee on initiatives such as bconNext, a networking program that introduces colleagues across different business verticals,” says Elyse.   When asked why someone should work at Brookfield, Elyse says: “If you like a challenge and want to be a part of a business that is always evolving, where you will learn something new every day, Brookfield is for you.”

Brookfield Next Generation (bNEXT) is our employee engagement group for future leaders, which provides #career development and #networking opportunities for employees in the early stages of their careers. #bNEXT Australia went behind the scenes at one of our office assets 52 Goulburn Street, where they learnt about the recent capital works program. Tour guides Kyllie Stewart, Precinct Manager, Odhran Bradley, Property Manager and Han Zhang, Capital Works Manager, provided insights on the project from start to finish, including the creation of the ‘sky lobby’, wellness facilities, and the new entrance connecting the property to World Square retail.  

Making a positive contribution to the communities in which Brookfield operates is fundamental to the way we do business. Our philanthropic program #BrookfieldCares Australia has kicked off volunteering for the year, partnering with the Early Bird Cafe to pack 160 meals for Sydney’s homeless community.

Meet Tracey Yang! Based in Sydney, Tracey is an Associate in our #PrivateEquity team where she evaluates investment opportunities across a variety of industries by engaging with management teams, sector experts and advisers, and running commercial and financial analyses. She also supports some of our portfolio companies with business planning, executing value creation plans, evaluating M&A opportunities and regular performance monitoring. Tracey likes that she’s able to be involved at all stages of the investment process, from early to late-stage due diligence, through to completion, portfolio management and exit.
