🌟🌙 Last night, I had the pleasure of attending the Lord Mayor’s Business Awards 2024, thanks to the kind invitation from a very good friend Rachel Colaso, General Manager Business Development of Business Chamber Queensland who are one of the sponsors of this event. It was an inspiring evening celebrating Brisbane’s finest innovators and enterprises! The awards showcased the incredible contributions of finalists who are driving our city’s economic growth. Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner highlighted how Brisbane is not just Australia’s lifestyle capital but with significant innovation and investment in robotics, artificial intelligence and quantum computing, together with the city’s status as host of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Brisbane is emerging as an exciting growth stock in the Asia Pacific. It was also wonderful to see Lady Mayoress Nina Schrinner, whose dedication through the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust is making a real difference to support those people in needs within the Brisbane community. I feel so fortunate to have called Brisbane home for the past 25 years. It’s truly one of the best cities on earth! 🥂🎉Here’s to Brisbane’s bright future and the incredible businesses that are shaping it! #LMBA2024 #Brisbane #BEDA Adrian Schrinner Councillor Krista Adams, Deputy Mayor Brisbane City Council Sarah Hutton Adam Allan Dr John Cowie GAICD Heidi Cooper Rachel Colaso

  • In Australia we are geographically isolated but economically we are not. Hearing the business perspective from communities across the world is critical to understand the business environment in Queensland and our place on the world stage. Our CEO Heidi Cooper and Business Sustainability General Manager Cara Westerman joined their national and international colleagues at CHOGM in Samoa this week, representing the Queensland business community to the world.

So proud to represent Queensland businesses at the Commonwealth Business Forum at CHOGM Samoa 2024. The strength of our international Chamber network was definitely on display as we advocated at the highest levels for practical outcomes for businesses on some of the biggest issues impacting our economies and communities. Enormous thanks to Andrew McKellar for leading the Australian delegation with his typical expert diplomacy as well as the incredibly talented Cara Westerman whose thinking around supporting SMEs on their sustainability journey is truly world leading.
